Having had my Roadhawk Ride bullet type camera replaced under warranty for the 3rd time I have decided that enough is enough. My dealer has agreed that he will replace it with another and allow me a full refund of original price against the price of replacement model. The question is Which Model to get?. I can read all the reviews but I take these with a pinch of salt. Most reviews are based on experiences in almost ideal conditions Similar to motorcycle reviews and have little or no bearing on real life experience. That is why I am asking the forum. Your thoughts , Good or Bad. I would prefer a Bullet type camera but am open to suggestions . Size matters and in this case-- The smaller the better.and would like to be able operate through an internal battery and also automotive power. After that I'm easy. ::013::

I'm interested in this as well. Come on you guys. Cough it up. I need to document my ride to Starbucks every Monday morning, and the Deli the rest of the week. I saw two rabbits the other day. It's the real wilderness up here. R ::012::

The contour brand is a reputable bullet style camera.

I use a GoPro Hero 3, and it works great. That said, I've never used anything else, so I have no idea how it compares. If my GpPro has any drawback it's the battery life, which is short. I simply carry a bunch of batteries to deal with that. So far I haven't figured out a clean, sanitary, acceptable way to get bike power to it while using the GoPro weatherproof case. If I could do that I'd be 100% happy with the GoPro.

I may be replacing my GPS here soon, and if so I have been looking at some of the Garmin ones that are compatible with Garmin's new VIRB action cameras...

https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-go/cameras/cOnTheGo-c534-p1.html

They can be hooked up to vehicle power, and with the right Garmin GPS can be controlled from the GPS unit as well as using the GPS as monitor. They can also be Bluetooth or WiFi linked to your smartphone (like the GoPro hero 3) for aiming, set-up, monitoring, etc. They have some cool features, seem solid, and can even use GoPro mounts with a simple adapter.

I'll chime in for the GOPRO line as well. We use them at the dive shop, and you just can't beat the quality of the images, and features. Their support engineers have been pretty helpful when I've called up asking crazy "can I do this" questions. I also have a few friends that use them in film making.

That said, there are other good cameras out there, I just don't think they are any better than the GOPROs.

You are correct, XTL. They are snowshoe hares. The locals just refer to them as rabbits. Also, I've never seen a single one wearing snowshoes, so it's not all that apparent. I did discover that unlike rabbits, the hares are born with hair. I guess that's why they call them hairs … uh, hares. Let's be careful out there. ::008:: R. ::012::

Yep they went out of business for a short time before a die-hard customer bought them, from what I've read, and reopened shop.

Is it Possible to Connect and Control Multiple Cameras in the GoPro App?
This is not currently supported. You will need to switch between wireless networks for each camera, so it will connect to one camera at a time.

We just did a burn test that used multiple GoPro cameras and had to sync the recordings post-production by using electronic timers that were in view of each camera. You could also use a flash, sound, sudden movement (bike coming off side stand for example), etc.

Thanks Checks. For some reason my Google foo was weak and the attention span was failing that night I think.

Bummer. I like the footage I've seen on those Ghosts and up until now, and thought the audio gremlins were solved. Looks like the Ghosts maybe a bit BMW in the consistency stakes. I don't need no Red Bull slow mo big air stuff but it would be nice to at least have some good audio.

Contour Roam I have mounted on the left air dam. Leave it on there all the time does great job for being so inexpensive.

Couple videos on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwQFf_kGhllRKa7JycutFLA
I have a Contour Roam and a Contour HD as well as a Go Pro HD and have tried several mounting options. I have a helmet mount for the Contours and have also mounted to my left SW-Motech crash bar. Can you post a pic of your mounting on the left air dam? Thanks.
