In case you haven't seen the notice, On Any Sunday - The Next Chapter starts in theaters tomorrow.

http://www.onanysundayfilm.com/

I think it's only expected to be in theaters for about a week. Planning to go tomorrow night.

Found it showing about 10 miles from the office. Showtimes starting at lunch tomorrow!

I'm sneaking out. Thx DirtDad. Perfect start to the Lone Star Rally weekend here.

I was going Friday, but got a last minute booking for this weekend with some brutal hours, so I may go see it next week.

I just got back from seeing it. OUTSTANDING! ::012:: It is a little different but just as good as the original. The photography is even better but given the 40 years newer camera technology that is to be expected. Go see this movie! ::008::

Thanks for the quick review Jaeger! The original is just as old as I am, so I didn't get to see it in theaters (even with the anniversary revival a couple years ago), so I'll be going to see this one early next week.

::026:: Very well done. As a dad who taught a daughter to ride I loved the opening scene. Also appreciated the tip of the cap to the original film with the opening and closing songs. That ending song drove my daughter crazy in the original film. Made me smile again last night.

Theater had a total of 5 of us there. Which was actually a 25% increase in audience from the last film I saw in the theater (Atlas Shrugged).

I saw it Friday night, it was a sold out show, as the word was out on many of the local forums.
I thought it was ok, but thought they could have showed more of the motorcycle lifestyle.
It pretty much just showed the "popular" forms of motorcycling. MotoGP, motocross, extreme riding, etc.
no mention of adventure riding, exploring, sport riding, or touring...
It was very much like the first movie, but, back then touring, sport touring, sport riding, adventure riding didn't exist in the forms it does today. So, IMO it is just an updated remake of the first movie, not worth seeing in a theater.
Wait for it to come out for rental...

Ok, with a bit less enthusiasm than I first had when this thread started, I left the office to go see a matinee showing at one of the modern mega-theater complexes in Houston.
$5 buck ticket, Coke Zero and a foot-long dog, a leather seat on the row where you can put your feet up on the rail.

Can't lose regardless, is what I was thinking when the film started to roll.

It must just be me, a hopeless motorcycle romantic, but this was WAY BETTER than I was expecting. In fact, simply fantastic! I was engaged for every minute of it.
Not only was the cinematography awesome, the characters chosen to be part of the "story of motorcycles", were wonderful. I loved it! All of it.

By the way, Doug Henry and his daughter are my new motorcycle heroes. Didn't take any creative movie producing to capture their zest for life. Outstanding moments in the film.
And the dad that was the voice for his deaf motox daughter........ tear up or you're in serious need of a sabbatical. (just kidding)

If you're an old relic like me and you have never ridden a motorcycle in your life that wasn't fun, just because it has TWO wheels and GOES when you twist your wrist, you'll like this. And it won't be the same at home. It's wicked cool on the BIG SCREEN.

Disclosure: It does seem odd to write with such conviction about a movie that I shared the entire theater with just 1 other fella. ::)
But every time I looked over, he was laughing and grinning at the same time I was.

My wife and I both enjoyed it at the theater, but she did ask me if I thought it was worth the $24 we paid to see it. For me it was an easy, YES. I want to support people that are investing big and bringing products to market that improve motorcycling and things related to riding. It's good for all of us. I'm very happy to contribute a couple of ticket sales for the Brown family.

I just got home from seeing it after having my free Vets Day dinner at Smokey Joes.

I think it is a good movie to see on the big screen because of the cinematography (thank you GoPro)! You feel like you are really riding in some of the scenes!

We were two of five total in a big theater. Must be the crappy weather descending on Luavul tonight...

Saw it last , in my last warm night for six months (flying home tomorrow) :'( Didn't count how many people in theatre 20+?? , but had 2 other Tenere riders sitting right in front of me :-* Dark Raven & his sidekck (sorry didn't catch name)
All theatre goers must have thoroughly enjoyed it as we seemed to laugh & groan at same places . Definitely a MUST see for riders of all types

Saw it last weekend in a theater with 6 people (granted it was an afternoon showing). I liked it, but wanted to love it. Better photography for sure, but the original is better. There were quirky things in the film. Never seemed to take things far enough (editing?). For example, it showed Bo Derek at a race (yeah: "10"), but really didn't explain what she was doing there. Not much on ADV riding, except a deaf daughter and father ride in BC (which was really nice, but left you wanting more). All in all, it is worth seeing, but it doesn't come close to the original, as dated as that classic is. I think that the recent: "Why We Ride" does a much better job regarding our lifestyle.
One point of interest, however: Was there a Tenere parked in the background in one of the shots of the African visiting doctor segment? Went by quick, but I thought I saw one or two. Maybe wishful thinking.

I was waiting for you to say if your wife asked you "You don't ride like that do you"? :D

Closest location showing it is 2 hours away. The price you pay for living in a rural area....guess I'll wait for the DVD to come out like I did for "why we ride"

They kept cutting to the doc talking in what looked to be a room full of bikes. I say there was a blue Tenere sitting in the line. It was close to his left ear on the screen.

Can't say I expected much for Adventure riding on a movie about Sunday racing on bikes. I thought it was more the modern version of the original.

I do like Why We Ride even more, but I have never been able to get through that with a dry eye. I've tried, just can't do it. No movie has ever made me lose it like that one.

No one on earth has more understanding of how I ride than my wife. There's nothing I could tell her about my riding that she doesn't already understand better than me. More than once I've heard, "did you know you did x...y...or z?"...No. From deep woods, to MX tracks, to trips thousands of miles from home, and hospital visits, she knows everything about my riding.

The wife and I saw the movie this morning $9 and 7 people total in the theater. It was enjoyable, not quite the original but well done. May be since a lot of the racing can be seen on TV these days has taken some of the novelty away.

Worth the price to see it the theater!
