Its the northern part of japan, hope you enjoy the views from Japan :)

On the second day I did close to a Iron but including off-road without any issues which is a tribute to S10, what a versatile and comfortable bike!!

Thanks for the great photos, I was in the southern part in Yokosuka for 3 years and loved riding around Japan.

Thanks for sharing your RR - nice photos, with not so many words - Great. Interesting to me how much cleaner J@p@n is compared to mainland Ch!n@. Sorry for the typos which are on purpose to circumvent the Ch!n3s3 censors and the ill feeling the Ch!n3s3 have towards J@p@an at the moment.

Nice work, Blue. That's a good bit of riding you did there. Especially going to the west coast and Akita area, coz some of that is slow going (but very scenic). You are much more patient than I about stopping to take photos. Osoresan does have kind of an erie feeling to it, doesn't it? When I go there, I'm usually with friends or by myself, because my wife is Japanese, and, from what I understand, most Japanese don't go there unless there is something spiritually troubling within the family or self that needs fixed.

If you haven't rolled onto the Tsugaru fairy and checked out Hokkaido yet, you owe that to yourself. That is a must see! I did a circle around the island spending the most time in the area around Shiretoko Hanto. What a beautiful, wide open place. It's a rider's paradise! The only regret I have from that trip is not having more time to explore some of the dirt/gravel roads.

Thanks guys. I am glad you enjoy the photos.

Bukerdoc I have no experience riding in mainland chin@ however I would expect lack of proper infrastructure. That said aarent there offroad or gravel opportunities for a bike like super tenere ?

Teneator, completely agree on Hokkaido mate. Been there once already. Check out

You did not make a mistake. The tenere took control of your brain and let you off road, where it is most happy.

Oh, I see. I didn't realize you were the FZ1 rider. I read that report already, and very nicely done BTW. You covered some serious ground in a short amout of time!

So you think YOUR view of Mashuko was foggy? I also went to the same lakes you visited during this trip, but I think you have better pics, so I'll bore everyone with just a couple. I pitched the tent at Kussharoko and Toyako. Very beautiful lakes! Other than the Marimo fascination I didn't find much at Akanko that could be seen in the short time I had.

First stop of trip at Toyako. I ran into this crazy rider group that insisted on feeding me copious qtys of food and alcohol. Biggest bike in the group was a 650. Their group name is one of Inu origin though it escapes my steel trap memory. None of them were of Inu descent. ;)

Kussharoko. This doesn't begin to capture how gorgeous that view was.

Mushuko..yep there's lake beneath that!

Rider's Lodge in Shiretoko Hanto, SE side. You are basically provided with a floor, futons, a sink and some chairs...400 yen per night! LOL! I stumbled upon this beauty while searching for a Hotel or Ryokan. There's a free outdoor onsen within a couple of clicks from the place.

If you make it to Soya Misaki (cape soya) again, get a little bolder. This must be done quickly though, LOL!

Red Baron Rider's Station near Cape Soya, a specialized motel for motorcycles only. It has shower facilities, laundry machines, dining area, and a service garage complete with mechanic. My Battle Wings were wearing pretty thin, but they had none in stock...go figure! ;) I'm not a member, but they let me in for the member price which was 2000 yen per night. Was nice to have a covered area to protect the bike for a change.

I always hit up the Route Inn when I get back to Hokkodate, and the Morning Market for breakfast.
