Are they no longer available for the latest models? My dealer didn't seem to know.
Is there a different top case for later models, I wasn't aware? Amazon has a listing for the top case in black and says 12-18, but I don't know if this is what you're looking for: https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-Super-Ténéré-Black-23P-F84A8-T0-00/dp/B00CMUFMZE Both the black and silver are available through Revzilla at much better prices, but only listed up through 2018 or so, so again I'm not sure if this is your answer: https://www.partzilla.com/search?q=2019+super+tenere+top+case&ui=typeahead

Matching top box is still listed as available on Yamaha Canada website, $796 . Says black is in stock, silver is limited availability.

. . . . silver is limited availability.
Of all the rumormongering about the demise of the T-12, this could be the smoking gun.

1) If the T-12 was going to continue on, relatively as is, so would the boxes.
2) If there is to be a major redesign in the T-12, it would likely mean the same for the boxes.
3) If the T-12 is to be discontinued, there would be no reason to continue the line of luggage.

Or . . . . it doesn't mean a damn thing except:

4) Yamaha might have finally pulled the plug with the current vendor of those God forsaken latches, and will be offering an improved product.

Also consider all the current supply chain difficulties…

Definite possibility. But, most of the stuff that I've been running into, that's a victim of the supply chain, usually says "backordered" v. limited availability.

The 21’s still include the matching locks for the OEM cases keyed to the bike... don’t know why Yamaha would do that if you can’t get the panniers and top box. Given the focus on LEAN manufacturing, I wouldn’t think Yamaha would be including those if the boxes were discontinued.

I suspect the old luggage will continue to be available for awhile after the Super Tenere is discontinued because they will be needed for stuff like accident repair.
Hopefully Yamaha learned a few lessons with the old luggage so the next version will be much better.

OEM luggage perform just fine, but they will tolerate NO abuse. The locks are cheesy so be careful.
Canadian models are supplied with Yamaha panniers and cost less than USA models without any luggage so we can’t complain too much. The top case is currently available in black, in stock, order direct from Yamaha and avoid the dealer if you wish.

Oh I don't know... I've had great success and no failures in 3 sets since 2012. Just a little blue locktite on delivery and occasional lube. The S10's a bike I ride upright so I can't attest to crash resilience. Always used textile bags on DS bikes that operated vertically as well as horizontally.

Don't get me wrong, I like mine. But, I don't use them daily. And, when I do mount them, I'm not opening/closing them frequently. They would not hold up to what I put the latches through on the RT or ST.

Got it. Yeah, they're not for everybody to be sure, but for my intended use they haven't let me down even a little. I ride with them most of the time including foul wet weather and have never experienced a breach of water or dirt. Other than a 0-mph fall down which left nothing but nylon scuffing I can't imagine them being impact resilient much further... But they're not really designed for that.
