I'm thinking about selling my Yamaha Panniers and Topbox but need to know about the procedure for the locks.

My thought was simply to get another key cut and send it with the Panniers. No real risk to me as the Original keys have chips.

Or am I wrong?

Thanks

Just remove the locks. Every bike should have come with a set of 3 locks matched to the ignition key. I wouldn't make a copy of you key.

Every bike comes with a set of locks for Yamaha OEM panniers. I think there are 3 screws on the back of the lock to take them off. How much do you want for side cases?

Not sure yet. Think it will be a UK based sale as the shipping overseas will be huge.

Locks are secured with two security torx screws each (size #10 if I remember correctly). Located under the round rubber covers inside the boxes. Easy to remove and keep with your bike. USA bikes dont have a chip in the key or an immobiliser...I wish they did.

Have a seperate key made. I broke my oem key in the top case, when it was installed. The cases are great. I haven't had any other problems with the cases :p

Ok. Having major broadband issues so it's taken this long to load some pics.
Can't show you them on the bike as of today as she's over at Dynotech having a Power Commander fittted and a major tune. :)
