I've begun my farkling and I'm getting ready to take the bike on a long trip in a few weeks. I plan on taking a large duffle and placing it where the back seat is and over my panniers. Are there any good tie down spots using the OEM luggage rack, or would I be better served to go ahead and pick up the alt-rider or one of the other luggage racks. If some of you guys that already have the bike could give some feedback it would be appreciated.

I'm installing one and am taking parts to the powdercoat shop in the morning. I think it is the ALTrider, but will have to check.
So far it looks like it will work well. I took off the oem plastic so I could set this one lower. In my opinion the oem does not give much for tie down, like the racks.
Also have the ALTrider rear rack for the Givi E460. When I get done, it should be one level.
I am using the Micatech bags.

When I get done I'll post and have pics.
