Observations/Questions on Aux Lighting

After searching the site on Aux lighting I have made several Observations and would like to lay out my plan and get some feedback.

I like the look and function of bar lights, I think I will go with the Rigid SR series and place them high and tight under the headlights. I don't yet have engine guards and would be mounting them some other way (If this is a mistake please let me know).

I think I am going to use a PDM60 for the wiring, I am not really mechanically inclined and have basic electrical wiring knowledge. I believe I saw pics of a installation of this product but after searching the site I can't find it. I am not sure what wires to tap into and I want to mount it in a way that will let me access the programmable ports.

I am leaning towards having the lights run off of a switch of some sort, not sure about the switch placement. I really like some of the dash fill-in panels I have seen and mounting a switch onto it. Either way I want a Ignition/Switch combo because I am bad about killing batteries by not turning off things (lawnmower).
Any help or advice in this matter would be great!!

1) There are mounting bosses under the headlights for aux lights. There are several install threads here on the forum for the Rigid lights that show how the owner made use of the brackets and these bosses.

2) I'm not as familiar with the PDM60, as I used the EB PC8. You may want to look into the motobrain (motobrain.net), as it will also address some of your concerns in #3 as well (i.e., leaving stuff on). Since I ran the PC8, I alleviated that issue by running my lights on the switched side of the block.

3) Switches are very personal :D On my 2012, I wanted them to blend in, which is why I changed out the switch clusters to achieve the switching capability I needed with the aesthetics I wanted.

Contact Jaxon at Ride on ADV. He can give you a quick instruction on the wiring and use a relay. I makes it a lot easier. I wired mine from a relay to the switch and directly to the battery. This is so that if I just need a little light at say a campsite or something, I don't have to have the switch on. I also don't need to run them full on during the day unless I want to.
