Just got back a few days ago from Nova Scotia...

Here is a pic of my track...

2440 miles in 7 days.

I did 600 miles in one day on the way back..

The S10 performed perfectly as expected.

A few pics from Cape Breton and the Cabot Trail...

Keep posting, because we will be up there in 3 weeks. We've already gone through a few reports from Dirt Dad & others.

Awesome trip. I did Nova Scotia last August; 3000 miles in 8 days. The highlight for me was the Cabot Trail. ::008::

As noted, I did this last summer. Are you aware of the Ceilidh Coastal Trail? It is a legal dirt/gravel trail that runs along the southwestern coast. The views are spectacular. I have it as a GPX file if you want it. When I was there, the beginning was impassable because of some erosion. After finding this out the hard way, I asked someone at a Visitor Center. They told me to start at Troy, which was the way to go.

More pics, please. Always a great ride up there.

I've never done that ferry before. What did you think of it?

I did nova scotia in 2008, excellent trip. A couple of friends of mine are going on their st1300 later this summer, but my schedule would not allow.

We did the Cabot trail as well and stopped at the most northern settlement in Nova Scotia called Meat Cove. My BMW turned 50k on the windy dirt road that leads down to the village. Beautiful cliffs there.
Tried to make fort louisburg for tours, but got there too late. We took the flour delise trail coming back. The was a bad road. Road ends abruptly and landed in a two foot depression. That's where I snapped my lower shock bolt and ended up in a general hardware/lumber yard
Drilling out the rest of the bolt from a blind hole. Used their Palet jack to hold up the rear of my bike while the shock was out.
It's all part of the adventure.

We did make the tour at the glenora distillery though where they make some decent single malt scotch.

We took the ferry over to PEI and rode back over the confederation bridge. Not too much to see in Prince Edward Island, but I can say that I was there.

All in all, I would do it again in a heart beat. Great trip. Sounds like yours was too.

But one thing,,,, you can't go to nova scotia and not have at least one picture of a light house

On the way back we stopped at the bay of fundy. That was cool too.

Check wrecks, I have a large compiled video of my trip that I haven't been able to share on the Internet because of size limitations. I guess now I can post to my share file account and you can download it from there if you like. It's big though

Sorry for the hijack offcamber. I'll shut up now. :)

I can try downloading at a McDonalds or somewhere, as we just hit the road this morning and I'm on a break. Thank you!

We paddle in the Hartswell Islands near Brunswick for a week with family, then are heading to Nova Scotia for a week on the bike.

btw - The rest of the story for those wondering why the belly of the boat doesn't break at the edge of the tailgate when hitting bumps.

The tubes were drilled and filled with expanding foam for stiffness. My truck bed has airline seat track for tie down points so the rack beneath the yellow kayak is solidly attached to the bed. I use pool noodles and foam blocks between the boats to spread the load of hers, which only weighs 40 pounds. Each motorcycle tire is also tied down to the truck bed and the 4 straps to the sides are just to control left/right lean.
