It's going to be a while before I get back on 2 wheels, but I think I now have something that at least feels in the same vein. For the last 6 years, my daily driver was an 05 Ford F250. It had the 6.0 diesel which is a maintenance intensive motor, and I finally came to the point where I felt it was time for a change (I racked up over 100K miles myself). I listed it on craigslist and it sold within about 2 hours of posting the ad...my wife and I had decided to use Carvana for the replacement, and I found a 2011 Toyota Tacoma, which fittingly enough arrived yesterday (Taco Tuesday!). Its a regular cab 4x4, manual trans. Among the last conversations I had with my dad before he passed is that we both said how much we missed driving a manual...this truck is also bright red, like his old fire truck, so it just feels right. I'm definitely looking forward to personalizing it, and there is so much out there in terms of accessories. I haven't taken any pics yet...I have 7 days to return it, just in case, so am waiting for that time to elapse.

I'll still be here as one of your friendly neighborhood moderators. The Tenere will always be one of my favorite vehicles ever, and hopefully the circumstances will someday be right for me to have another one (either T12 or T7).

I'm sorry for your loss. I too, am a huge fan of manual transmission. . . . along with my boys. My '04 Ram was manual, and was sold to my oldest in '12. I had to order, and then wait for two months for my '13 Jeep, because there weren't any manuals around. My youngest had to order, and wait for his car due to the lack of available manuals.

I tried convincing my insurance agent that the manual trans was an "anti-theft device", since nobody could shift, and therefore steal it. She didn't buy it.

Edit: I assume you'll still be around as the "tech guy". Is there any chance of getting the T7 Forum's emoji selections?

Yep, will still help with the tech side of things as needed. Actually, I really need to get back to work doing "tech guy" things just for my mental health...I'll see what I can do about expanding the emoji set here...

I'm really happy with this one, so I don't see it going back after the 7 day period. I already swapped in my head unit, and routed the cable for the dash cam...I've also bene exercising the 4WD system a bit...but need to find a group to head out with.
