Greetings from NNJ!
I'm not a S.T. owner yet, but hope to be one in the near future. I'm currently riding a Kawasaki Concours 14. It's a great machine, but I'm looking to get back into adventure biking (is that even a thing?).
I've been riding for 8 years and got started on a V-Strom (the 650 "Wee-Strom"). I liked the ergonomics of the Strom, but got a fantastic deal on the C14. Now there's a 2013 S.T. with 4700 miles at a local dealer that has my attention (and a great price).

I see a lot of mentions of the Super Tenere being called an S10. Silly questions, but is this a shortened version of S-uper Ten-ere?

Looking forward to learning more about the machine and the people who ride them.

::004:: From Alma,Arkansas. Yes is the answer, ST, Super Ten, Tenere all the same bike. I have a 2013 and think it is great, got a great price and extended warranty, what more could I ask for.

Good Luck

::004:: to the forum!

I'm guessing you would like the ergo's of the Tenere if you were happy with your Wee/Vee.

Good luck!!

Welcome from Chicago!

I spent some time in NJ and know your area well. Still have my '06 VStrom I bought new and have ridden all over from the Pine Barrens up to High Point SP and everywhere in between.

Good luck on your S10 purchase!

Just paid a deposit for a new 2015 Super Tenere ES. It was a left over model in the Pittsburg area at a price that was impossible to resist - $12899 before taxes, tags, freight, prep and that those fun extras! I was going to wait until the spring, but the price was the deciding factor.
Seeing as though the riding season is just about done over in Jersey I'll be spending the winter looking at luggage racks and cases!

Excellent choice! I lived in Northern NJ for the first 27 years of my life. Last couple of places were Nutley and West Milford.

Congrats Ian! I just loaded up with the Givi Outback Trekker. I would highly recommend them. Great deal going through Motostorm in Italy although it took them a while. I ordered this summer when they were on backorder and Givi was on their summer holiday. ;D

Here is a picture of what they look like: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ZKKqeNaawbdWc5lk_UUkPO3zvYqODThiSg

There are a ton of great options though. Check out this forum. There is almost too much info on different options.

Thanks for the link to the photo and the website. I just checked them out. What volume are the cases you have on your bike?
I'm new to buying luggage, but it looks like Kappa are a budget division of Givi? The Kappa 37l K-venture side cases are $518 a pair!!! (Plus $32 shipping) I don't think there's anywhere in the USA that comes even remotely close in price!

They are 37L for the side cases and a 42L topcase.

As for the Kappa cases, I am unfortunately not familiar. They look almost identical to the Givi though.

Since you are not in a rush, check out the Holan Nomada series of cases from Poland. Don't forget to check on shipping cost before using a credit card.

There are all sorts of reviews and threads about luggage in the sub-forum for that subject.

Welcome from South Jersey. If you want to do some dirt riding in NJ's 1 million acre pinelands preserve, give me a shout. I ride all year round down here.
