You're right about the slow speed "abruptness". I've just adjusted my clutch control; engage it just a hair slower. I've gotten quite smooth, even with a passenger. ::26::

It's funny hearing peoples opinions on bikes sometimes. All very subjective, and there's nothing wrong with that.

A local guy I ran into with a Tenere complained about the vib's in the handlebars and he tried all kinds of isolaters to no avail.

Then posting a question on the V1 site about the vib's on a V1 and they say it's not any worst than any other bike.

I guess that's why all the different motorcycle sites, people congregate together and pat themselves on the back cause 'THEY' own the best bike out there! ::020::
Well said. Other than my GSA-riding buddies (who have likely overdosed on the BMW Kool-Aid), I have never met anyone who loved everything about their bike. And none of us like the same thing. I have a coworker who goes through at least one bike every summer on his quest to find the perfect ride. Good luck finding yours.

if I lived in the US, i would have done the flash thing. Closest flash deal is in Australia and that's still too far.

Setting the CO settings somewhat reduce the vibrations at the 3k RPM range. I set it to +3 when all is stock. With DNA air filter, +5. With DNA and Akrapovic, +8. YMMV. I have a GEN 1 bike.

As far as the vibrating goes, I think it is what you are accustomed to. Having lost part of my misspent youth to 60's British Twins (Norton, BSA) EVERYTHING else is smooth

Absolutely. Because the most recent other bikes I have ridden have been the FJR and ST1300. When I started riding the Tenere, I didn't notice any annoying vibration(s). The Tenere seems smooth to me, and one of the "slickest" shifting bikes I've ridden. I would ASSUME that compared to a Gold Wing or the big K bike, there might be a lot of vibes.

When you say "Sink your throttle bodies", do you mean take them off and wash them in the SINK or do you mean SYNCH them on the bike?!!! ::015::

I have done that...........................the latter one at least! It would be nice if they were clean too........................I guess!

Details of the 'ac flash', what did you ask for exactly? Isn't there certain things you can ask for or just the 'norm'? (edit: never mind, I can look that up I suppose)

It will take more than a tip to get my money though ::024::
I asked for his standard tune in sport mode, leave t mode alone. You can custom tune just work it out with him.He generally turns them around same day when he knows its coming.I really don't want your money , just trying to highlight the difference!
