Congratulations to New England and Seattle!

What a wild couple of games. As a long time Patriot fan obviously I am very happy with the Pats. I expected a win but not a blow out. Funny how after the huge loss in week one against KC the media said it was the end of the dynasty....
Any on to Seattle.....this should be a very close game could go either way I think the Pats have the advantage but time will tell.

Speaking of Seattle I was really amazed at how crappy they played for the first 3 quarters and if they hadn't recovered the on side kick they would be watching the Super Bowl from home. That's how goes in the NFL....ya just never know.

I didn't see any horrible calls in either game. The officials missed a few. One particularly obvious face mask on Gronk but wouldn't have changed the outcome anyway.

I'm here in Seahawk country, the PNW. I basically gave up on them in the 3rd, but decided to watch the rest anyway since it was a rainy, nasty day out. Glad I did! I feel sorry for the fans that left the stadium, only to find out later that they had won.

As a neutral they were both great games, I feel for Green Bay as they played very well in the first half. I guess the fact they could only get two field goals on their early drives and not TD's cost them big style in the end. The Seahawks 'never say die' attitude carried them over the line. A bit one sided in Foxboro' but an enjoyable game to watch (unless you're a Colts fan...). Should be a cracking Superbowl !

P.S. It's on very late in the UK, so the flexi time will take a big hit ::008::

I don't think anyone expected the Colts to look that bad. I certainly didn't. Love or hate....Bill Belichick he is a mastermind when it comes to play calling. Always keeps the defense guessing can change strategies to adapt to the other team. This is why the Brady/Belichick combination has been so good for so long.

I am sure the Super Bowl will be a much tighter game.

Seems like one of the immutable laws of the NFL is that missed opportunities early in a game ALWAYS come back to bite you. Green Bay almost escaped that fate, but in the end the law held! Comebacks like that are extremely rare in the NFL - always fun to watch.

Missed opportunities but the last 3min of the game was a total self destruction CHOKE (yes it really hurt). Congrats Seattle.

From Seattle: whew :eek: Does anyone have a spare adrenal gland? My OEM one is shot.

Yeah ... did Green Bay collapse or did Seattle steal it? Monday morning QBing is always fun.

I don't understand why when a team is winning with a particular strategy and are up by two scores they change strategy. The number of times you see a team go into a 'prevent' strategy and end up losing you would think they would learn just to carry on doing what they were doing before.

The whole philosophy is to kill the clock and reduce the risk of turnovers. When you are playing to win (vs. not to lose), you "up" that risk a bit more to move the ball. Not really wrong, but when Green Bay went into "prevent" mode and Seattle took advantage and made some improbable plays to take advantage of them backing off on the throttle. Based on how Seattle couldn't execute in the first 3/4's of the game, it wasn't a bad decision. But, that's sports! Don't think Belichick will be so conservative if the same situation presents itself in the SuperBowl. ::012::

Super Tenere - official motorcycle of the Seattle Seahawks (to get this thread back to the forum purpose)?

Green Bay lost because of few pivotal plays...missed field goals and the worst was not catching the on side kick....but that's football....you can't count any team out till the end. Okay by beginning of the 4th quarter it was pretty much done for the Colts.....but I have seen some amazing comebacks. I remember about 13 years ago...Monday Night Football Colts Vs Tampa Bay....Tampa was way ahead going into the 4th quarter....they ended up losing in regulation time.....unbelievable.

I like football and I doubt that deflating footballs 17% for Brady's hand would account for the difference in scores in the New England game. (Brady said that he prefers a soft ball, while Rogers has bigger hands and said that he prefers harder pressure.)

Even so, I refuse to support anything Belli-cheat is associated with and refuse to watch the Superbowl.
2015 = Deflate-Gate
2014 = Player subs and fast snaps to prevent the Ravens lining up matched players
2007 = Spying on the Jets
2002 = Obscure rule bullshit

And no, it isn't "done by everybody" so I plan to join people going to the movies!

Sucks, I may be doing the same. Not a big fan of the Pat's, but I think Richard Sherman is and azzhole. He's good, but why do you have to be like that. Love to see him and Brady duke it out.

Yes. As a fan, Sherman could exhibit a little more class. Pass it off as youth. He an amazing talent, but with a mouth (never seen that before in sports!). Smart guy who probably is trying to play the "psych" part of the game. If he is increasing his profile so that quarterbacks are afraid to throw to him, then it is working.

By the way, the Patriots have not won any Superbowl they have been in since they got caught stealing signal calling. Just sayin' ::)

Well as Pats fan I am certainly not condoning any cheating...it hurts the fans the most when this shit happens. You really should be pissed at the NFL in general because it seems they were aware of it, at least the possibility of it before both playoff games and did nothing. However the Ravens were bunch a whiners complaining about the quick snaps and substitutions....it was all within the rules.
Its clear the NFL manipulates, covers up, and looks the other way when it benefits them.

Fans should be pissed at the NFL for letting these shenanigans go until it gets to a championship game....

Watch or don't watch the NFL has already made their money..ads are already bought and paid for.

Are the theaters donating money to veterans or something?? if not you are just putting money in Hollywood's pockets so they can remake some classic movie and turn it into crap.

They Ravens lost because of a secondary decimated this season with injuries that couldn't stop the Pats passing game. If the Pats first touchdown had been called back for holding on Ngata as it should have been, who knows if the Ravens would have squeaked through. It was still a good game; I'm a Ravens supporter and my son is a Pats supporter! As a big fan of good defense, I'll be cheering on the Seahawks.

The best part of having the Super Bowl here in Phoenix is that I go some work out of it. I'm getting ready to head to Orlando for more work, and I'm glad I won't be in town on game day!

The 'soft ball' scandal has even made the UK press, which is surprising. Just shows how much US football is catching on over here.

It is amazing that US football has caught on so much over there these days. I was an U.S. Air Force kid in the mid '60s through 1973 (High Wycombe, Lakenheath and Alconbury) and only played UK style football until we moved to the states. I started playing little league US style football when we moved over to the states and had never heard of it let alone seen it before, so yes, it has come a long way since I was a kid.
