Newbie from Ireland!!

Howdy folks, my name is Benny from Cork in Ireland.

I'm the proud owner a 2011 XT1200Z. I've had 3 XTZ750's in the past but the newer 1200 blows me away, absolutely fantastic machine.

I've joined the group here to learn about the bike from experienced members and also learn about the do's & don't of the bike.

I've a small bit of trouble with it at the moment but I'm currently doing the all necessary changes & adjustments before I come on here with my problems!!

I must say, there's a great search bar here and a lot of experienced guys behind their tools.

Looking foward to getting to know ye and hoping to share my knowledge along the way.

Howya RIVA, I could have your old S10, there's not many around Cork so could be??

All I know is that I'm the third owner of it, I bought it in JT's in Innishannon.

I didn't get much info from him about the bike, but I knew I wanted it as soon as I saw it.

I'm hoping it was your bike so you could shed a bit of light on the history of it and if there's anything done to it modifying wise that I don't have to worry about. I'm currently doing the valve clearances on it (84K) on the clock, just waiting on the shims to arrive. I know JT said that the CCT was replaced, but not sure if it was replaced with a 14 one? I've ordered a manual CCT but it won't have it until next week after the bank holiday weekend, which I was hoping to have the bike for.

I had a look at the CCT that's in it and looks good, I must search here to find out what actually happens them


Edit:: Would you believe it RIVA, I must definitely have your old machine, Just looked at the service book that came with it and it was originally owned by an N.C from Cloyne, last service from JT motorcycles at 74K km.

About the CCT that's in it, I was hoping that it was replaced by the newer 2014 type but it's not, but I can't find the fault in it?

Hi Benny. Sounds like you have my 11C Tenere. If you have you have a good one. I really looked after tis motorcycle as I do all of my motorcycles. I had the valves done when I had it and all were within spec. Enjoy.

Ya, confirmed it today with JT himself, It was yours alright and It was well looked after by you and it will be again as long as I'll have it.

I'm in the middle of doing the second valve adjustment, 5 from 8 out but it's all good.

New here myself. Love Ireland, my family is from Cappoquin. Was there in 15 I think it was really enjoyed Cork and the whole country for that matter. Best wishes with your bike.
