Hi All,

I was looking for a newer/better/larger bike, since I've been riding a Ninja EX-500 as my learning bike for a year. I was thinking maybe XRS900, or FJ09 for longer travel, more comfort, or even Triumph Tiger 800.

Last week’s Tuesday it was a Yamaha demo day near me in Boston. I kind of liked the two 900’s but didn’t love them. Just out of curiosity I asked to ride the Super Tenere, thinking it would be too big, tall, unrefined, wild for me… but I had time, and curiosity.

It was love a first mount, and I started riding I could not stop giggling. Demo rides a slow, a bit lame, but it was just enough to know that was it. That would be the bike. I week later (this past Tuesday) I went to pick up a used one in upstate NY, almost 300 miles away from me, and drove it home. Best ride ever so far. And looking forward to many more.

My girlfriend also loves it, and after a quick 2-up ride around the block last night she’s now buying gear to go as a pillion and plan our first get away.

I look forward to chat with you all and learn more about how to take care of my new S10,

Gustavo

Welcome aboard from a fellow MA Super T rider (live in Gardner, work in Acton). The ST is a great all roads bike. My favorite rides are those that mix the best of multiple road surfaces. For example, head West and do a loop around the Quabbin reservoir or go further West and get lost on the back roads of the Berkshires.

Greetings from Malta and welcome to the forum. Careful here - love the bike; love the girlfriend :). Prioritising this kind of love can be fatal :) :) :)

yeah I've been exploring those areas with my other bike, and I already took one long ride again with the 10. It's super fun! I plan to be taking longer trips too, I set myself a goal to hit all these New England swimming holes:

Great link. Thanks for sharing. The Super T was my first bike and my skills are "growing into it". Here's a video from this past weekend in Jeffery NH. The most technical riding is in the last few minutes after my friend Dean kindly scouts out the mud puddle and clears some branches. The GoPro tends to make everything look flat but that last section from puddle on is all up hill.

Hey there! So are you getting more into trails and off-road riding? For the last few months I've been doing more of it myself. A couple of friends convinced me to go down to Pines Barres Off-road camp (http://www.pinebarrensadventures.com/) this past September and after one weekend of classes I've caught the bug for dirt. I usually go with a couple of friends riding Tigers 800. If you guys ever want to connect and go riding on or off road let me know!
