About damn time. Somebody needs to give Garmin competition so they are forced to watch their pricing and make their user interface more user friendly.

Cool...I've always been a fan of TomTom but they have lagged a bit behind garmin with variety of models and features.

This next Tom Tom looks pretty good. I have a Tom Tom Rider bought last year, and while it is a decent gps for less than a Garmin, it ain't no garmin. Some of the controls and menu logic to me is not very intuitive. Hope this new one does better. On the plus side, it does have a Super Tenere' avatar and a start up and shut down screen you can download. Works good with the TYRE program for mapping routes and can also interpret Garmin gps points as well. Bit of a learnig curve for me to use it , but I can be a bit of a clod also.....

YMMV

Looks a tasty bit of kit. I need a sat nav as my navigation skills are 'legendary' and I've got a 2,000 miler to Austria (via Lake Como, Italy) and back lined up. I may hang on to check this one out.

I've owned a lot of Garmins, which means I could tell you a lot of their problems. Good luck Tomtom...Magellen, are you listening?
