Tenere man
Member
Hi everybody,
Loving the Forum. After many years with 3 BMW RT's, and then 4 Pan's, i fancied a change. Started looking around like you do, but being 6'3'', with a 34'' inch inside leg, the choice is slighty limited, to say the least.
Comfort comes very high on the list for me, so the hunt begins.
Tried the V Strom, quite liked it, but the vibes where pretty bad. The GS, was all most as bad, plus the gearbox was like an old truck, no way. The tiger was reasonable OK, except my knees where really hurting, after 75 miles, just had to stop, too painful.
I will admit that i hadn't considered the Tenere, don't no why i hadn't. I was sat at a local cafe when a Tenere ES, in blue, rode in. So went over for a chat, just like you do.
Anyway he told me he was selling, due to heath reasons. So i had a sit on it, put the seat in the high setting, and it fitted great. So we agreed i would meet him later on at his house. Went for a good long ride, within 10 minutes, i knew it was for me. With the exception of wind noise over the screen, everything else was perfect.
So now i'm the proud owner of a 2014 ES, with wait for it, only 309 miles on it.
It also had nearly every single genuine Yamaha factory extra fitted on it.
Just ordered the rear brake extension piece, from SW, I manged to miss the rear brake lever, a couple of times, due to my Altburgs, and being size 15's.
I've learned so much all ready just from reading all the posts on the site.
