Been riding for 50 years but began riding on the road in 07 as my brother in law invited me on a road trip. I couldn't get into Harley's (I like them but just not for me). So I started off small with a 650 vstrom and now 7 years later the 2013 Tenere I just bought new is my 5th street oriented bike. Over the past few years I've enjoyed the weekly rides and annual trips but wanted to get back to the adventure style of bike because it's just more versatile than my last bike (a goldwing). Plus I had some comfort issues with the wing. What a nice bike otherwise.
The bmw gs I had was a bit too tall so I struggled a little coming to a stop. Also, I was always worrying something would break. Otherwise a fine machine. The Tenere gets me back to my roots and should be very reliable. Hope so anyway. I can already tell I enjoy it's nimbleness and versatility. I also enjoy being more confident at stops and when maneuvering in tight spots or when maneuvering it around in the garage. I'm more inclined to run local errands with this bike as well as hit the road for my annual 4000 mile trip.
I've been spending way too much time on this forum gaining ideas and I appreciate the help. Seems like a very nice group of like minded folks.
