Hi!

What a resource this forum is; I was browsing it even before I bought the bike and am even happier to have it now that I own one (for all of a week now). Pic attached of how she sits now.

I'm the proud owner of a new (old stock) 2013 Super Tenere. I've only put about 500km's on it but so far I'm loving it. Recently I've been renting a 1200GS in California when I go there for work (did about 3000 miles total) and finally decided to bite the bullet and get a big adventure bike. The versatility is incredible. I sold my 2013 Yamaha R1 and my 2008 Kawasaki KLR 650 (only had it for a month on the road) and got the Tenere. Quite the switch!

In the short time I've had the bike I've already swapped out the windshield, added heated grips and crash bars, and got the OEM pannier set (just need the locks, dealer is of no help and they're nowhere on the bike). My Yosh exhaust and windshield bracket should be here soon too.

I look forward to learning and contributing on the site, thanks.

Tony

congrats, with a simple hello, mctonyb..... I believe the 3 keyed locks are shipped to the dealer under the seat.....
ultimately they are included with the ST and would be the dealers responsibility to provide them at no extra cost to you.....

Thanks for the warm welcome(s) everyone.

I wish that was the case. This bike I bought they've had for a long time (new 2013 so they probably had it in 2012) and they can't find them. They've told me they're having a hard time getting them from Yamaha as well.

So I have these great panniers with no way to lock them (both to the bike and also the lids). Hopefully something comes up soon..

Welcome on, Tony from Ontariario …. Congrats on that new bike. Always good to have some more Canucks on board. Yeah, those locks are simply part of the deal. Yamaha has to provide. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Nice! I did just about the same 2-up. Went through Wasaga north around the bay then up to Port Severn and Honey Harbour, up and around through Bala and down to Gravenhurst. Then finished off south through Orillia and highway 12 around the east shore of Lake Simcoe south to Keswick and then back home. Nice weather for a ride; I hope it stays this way!
