Hi guys

Yesterday I was in the opening day in the fair Eicma in Milano. It was the only day I could go so in my new role as a blogger I tried to have a press accreditation…. And they agreed!!

So, I was lucky enough to visit the fair from 9 to 12 just with the press (all the girls smiles for me) and see the stands without people. Then, the rest of the day was also for trade companies so it wasn’t crowded.
Anyway, as very “professional” blogger I am (!!) I have interviewed a Yamaha guy to know the details of the newSuper Ténéré 1200.
I haven’t found the most informed guy in the stand and I think I knew better the differences we saw from the bike exposed in comparison to my old SuperTen so please don’t blame me if there is something that you know from the new bike and I don’t explain. Te guy realized the information he gave me was poor so he promise me to send me a press kit ... see if they do and when ...

This are the main differences I saw:

- Change of decor (one more... )
- New dashboard
- Windshields different in the two versions (high and low ) and manual height adjustment in 4 positions . I don’t know if it the inclination can be modified. Bar for holding the GPS .
- Electronically controlled suspension with two functions, sport and city (he wasn’t sure)
- Improved engine, more power (He had no idea how many HP, two or three …)
- I guess it will be two versions with electronic suspension as an option. The one with electronic suspension has a plastic cover on the side.
- New mirrors (nicer)
- LED indicators (it was time to change those the old ones that looked like a Chinese scooter )
- Modified tail
- New aluminum kickstand. No center stand?? (see pics)
- Cruise control
- New panel under the main light

Anyway ... the truth is that I was expecting something more, perhaps a dirt oriented version. But they improved a great bike, so we have XT1200Z for more time.

Very nice! I appreciate the info and pics, and can't wait to see the official numbers and specs from the press kit. Thanks for running an English version of your blog and linking here for us to keep up with it.

Thank you very much for being our on-scene reporter. As usual, you do a very through and excellent job. Your English is better than my Spanish.

One of the things not mentioned much that I find a real improvement is the new upper triple clamp and now-separate handlebar mounts/clamps. That opens a new world of options over the old one, and looks a lot better as well. As this becomes available, I'll probably replace mine with the new version.

And, yes there is a center stand. Still have the blue too.

There's a centerstand on the "E" model that has the ESA suspension, but the 2014 *standard* does *NOT* have the centerstand installed as delivered, nor does it have passenger grab rails or the rear rack. I'm sure those can be purchased for the *standard* as "accessories"... More here:

http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=9835.msg163506#msg163506

Here's the Yamaha Europe main page for the *standard*:

http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/eu/products/motorcycles/adventure/xt1200z-super-tenere.aspx

And a picture - note it does *NOT* have a centerstand:

And here's their page for "E" model with ESA:

http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/eu/products/motorcycles/adventure/xt1200ze-super-tenere.aspx

And a pic, where you can see it does have the centerstand, grab rails, rack, etc.:

Just FYI...

Noticed that too. Dare I say the bars look to have less sweep?

Yeah... yesterday it was an orgy: bikes, girls, bikes, girls... ;)

I'm preparing a post in my blog with all of them, it's going to be the most popular :D
Meanwhile, this is my favourite because it has a nice girl and the scooter Yamaha build specially for me: a T-Max engine in a off road bike... T-Max Jaumev version :D :D :D

A what? Is this one of those special builds people are doing? Or...
It was in the Yamaha stand. I think is just a prototype... dunno what are they thinking to do with it

This is the kind of thing lots of people over at ADV seem to want.

A smallish, twin, dirt bike that has dealer support and doesn't break down all the time.

I think they would have a bit of a hit with this.

Great job on the report Jaime! Saw your post over at the local STOG Facebook page from Singapore as well. Just wondering if the new dash could be made to fit the 2013 Tenere haha...just thinking. Anyway I am barely riding my ride for less than a year and I'm loving it ::003::
