Here are some pics of my new seat made by Steve Gowing in Fort Collins, Colorado. I just picked it up today, so I can't say much about the comfort. I am very happy with the workmanship and Steve was great to work with. He took a lot of time to explain seats to me and to make sure that he understood what I wanted. He also had me come back when it was partly done to make sure that I was happy with it, and he got the whole thing done in less than a week. The cost was $545 to re-shape and cover the front seat and put a matching cover on the rear seat.

I've heard good things about Steve and his seats on other forums. One of the guys I ride with has one of his modified seats on his FJR. I talked to Steve last year but never went any farther with it. Im anxious to hear how you like yours!!

I still haven't gotten any longer rides in on the new seat, so I can't really comment yet. Hopefully the weather and various other distractions (mostly the 300 xc-w) will allow me to get out sooner rather than later.

So I got out today for a flourish hour ride. The new seat is better than the stock seat, but I wouldn't say it is a lot better. Of course, it is early in the season, so my butt is not used to longer rides. Also, the new seat may break-in as I ride it more. I will update after some more saddle time.
