Hi All,

I haven't actually ridden it yet but I bought a white and red 2013 back in December. Can't wait for spring! I have been watching this forum for a long time and I'm glad to finally belong to the club. ::022::

A little about my history:

I've ridden sport bikes mostly with lots of dirt riding way back. Since you can't get away with what I used to do as a young rider (everyone with a cell phone thinks they're cops and report everything) I needed a different way to get out and have fun. I've always loved the distance stuff even though some would say sport bikes aren't comfortable. I rode my RZ350 to Daytona Beach, Fla via Myrtle Beach SC putting 5000 kms on in 9 days and several 1,000 km days on the FZ750. I sold the FZ with 75,000 kms on it with out any issues.

When a lot of the places to ride off road turned into new subdivisions, I got into mountain biking. Lots of places to ride when you don't have an engine! I love the epic rides you can do on the mountain bike linking different trails together by road to cover 100-200 km in a day enjoying lots of single track in the woods. After covering over 60,000 km and wearing out 3 mountain bikes (on my 4th now), I see the Tenere as something very similar but on a much bigger scale. Will I notice a handling difference between my carbon fiber bike and the Tenere? ::025:: I won't be able to pick up my Tenere and walk through the rough stuff and then keep going!

Looking forward to many adventures and advice from all the experience on this forum!

Stay away from the rough stuff and you'll really enjoy the machine. Gravel roads and the odd jeep trail are fine but no single track. Welcome to the Big Boys Club. ::26::

Welcome. Wish you many miles of joy on your new S10.

Don't forget that this is a 600 lb bike when loaded. Not the easiest to handle in sand or mud. On the road, I've never ridden a better bike.

Welcome and congrats from an ex-Ontarion (Orillia, Kingston, Guelph). Post a picture of your new ride.
So, here's a question from someone who hasn't ridden in Ontario for years: What's the best ST road in the province?

Cheers!

Welcome 10éréRider,

I grew up and lived in the Toronto area until I moved to the States. Been here in PA almost as long as lived in Toronto. I did a nice road trip last summer around Georgian Bay (from the west) and looped around and visited old friends and my sister on the Severn River south of Parry Sound. See you on the road someday.

I'll have to let ya know once I get out on it. I have a few things in mind from mountain biking lots around the Gravenhurst area as well as up on the Bruce Peninsula. I plan on just backroads and maybe an easy trail for a while to get used to it.

The Swift Rapids road near Orillia would be an easy one that I liked when I was on it years ago as well a few more around there.

Can't wait to get out there!!

Welcome from an ex-Guelpher! Ontario is a great place to ride (at least several months of the year). A James Bay trip on the bucket list? The Tenere would be perfect for that.
