New owner here from SE Pennsylvania. I've been enjoying this forum for several months as I've waited for the right deal. Many of my friends have migrated to the GS1200 but I couldn't justify the difference in price. I just picked up a leftover 2012 for $11,700 and am very happy with my decision.

Welcome! Use the amount saved to add a flash and suspension, and you will have a machine that matches what they paid thousands more for.

11,700....Sweeet deal. You coul get every option from Yamaha and still be less than the standard mod from BMW.
I'm told that the new gs has had a few recals already. Makes me feel much better that I chose the rite bike. ::022::

Greetings from Texas! You made the right choice. My dad has a 2007 GS. Even though he had the final drive replaced a year ago, he now has to replace some tranny seal. In his words, he has to tear the bike in half to replace a $17 seal. Would cost $2,500 in labor at the dealership.
