Greetings from northeast Virginia. Proudly took delivery yesterday and took the long way home. My first 90 miles fully convinced me that I made the right decision! Paid retail, didn't haggle about destination and dealer prep charges; just wanted to ride. Got a blue base model and will start the mods as soon as I can. This machine is just perfect for what I want to do and my first impressions, well, impressed me. My most recent bike was a KLR650 (which I loved; and took from Denver to Deadhorse and back) so I have high hopes for the Tenere. Thanks for keeping the forum, I hope to be an active listener for a while then as I get some more experience under my belt I may actually have something to contribute. For now, it's just all smiles and plans. Got home after dark last night and it's raining real hard right now ... can't wait to get the cover off and grab a few pictures to share. Really looking forward to the upcoming rides!

Welcome from Northern Virginia. The bike is very different from the KLR. I suspect you're going to love it. Congrats.

First chance at a sun-break today (will it ever stop raining around here???). So ... my wife asked me a really tough question; "what are you going to name it?" hmmm .. not done that before. DO I name my machine? IF I do, how to choose a name that isn't canned or trite? I know ... I'll ask the forum!!! ("are you sure that's wise, honey?" she says)...

We shall see :)

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new bike. I am no help on a name. Too many brain cells sacrificed this weekend.

Welcome to the group and this is your invite to the Sunday Ride To Eat in Thurmont.

There was a blue with a Fredericktown (Frederick, MD) temp tag parked outside L'Enfant Plaza today. Yours?
