Cheers Folks, new rider here from Columbia, SC. Not only am I new to the ST - I pulled the trigger on a new '15 ES a few weeks ago, I'm new to motorcycles in general. The first time I rode the bike was after I purchased it, and rolled it off the utility trailer the dealership let me borrow to get the bike home. I know, I know, - that probably wasn't the smartest thing in the world, buying a brand new bike without having ridden it - or any bike - for the last 20 years (since college). But, I'm happy to say so far it's been everything I hoped it would be. No long trips yet, I read the manual about the "break in" period and I've been mindful of not getting above the 3,900 or so RPM's until about 800 miles. I'm half way there.

Now I just need to find somebody to ride with. If you're close by or headed through, let me know I'd love to meet up and make some new friends!.

Welcome,
You made a pretty good choice on your first new bike! I never road one when I purchased mine either. Just a friends recommendation.
Happy overall though.
If you're ever near the northern border of NC, let me know.
