I put maybe 5miles on it today solo during the test ride and then an additional 15 maybe with my wife on the back. Super happy with it, FAR more comfortable them the GSXR that I am coming from!

Is the blue s10 a limited production color?

Are there "must do diy free mods" for these things?

Welcome on, Ryan, and congrats on the new bike. Well done. Your smile factor will begin to enhance exponentially. Blue is a most adequate colour, although clearly inferior to the black .... I'M MESSIN' WITH YOU!! I couldn't let Colorider get away with that. Get some miles on that boy and report back. ::004:: R. ::022::

Thanks guys! I am nervous and excited about the Super-10. I have been on a 06' GSXR 600 for the past 6yrs and I finally said enough is enough this year. I am tired of being gouged with high insurance rates, and riding a super uncomfortable bike. Also my wife refuses to get on it, she has not been on the back of my bike in 3yrs now. I went window shopping and instantly fell in love with the Tenere. Got the wife to go look at it and she gave me the stamp of approval ::015:: so it was game on from there. I found one blue bike in the area about an hour drive from my house (everyone else has black) that I wanted to check out so we went on Saturday to look. As you all know, I ended up buying it after much debate but the price was right. I ordered up the side bags to go with it but they are on back order till June apparently, LAME!

welcome from a fairly new guy in Wisconsin. I just picked mine up 3 weeks ago.
Your about an hour north of me. Have you looked into the "Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail" yet? Sounds pretty cool, I want to check it out at some point this year.

Welcome! Boy that is quite a paradigm shift to go from a GSXR to the Tenere! I think you will find the forum a valuable resource in everything related to you r new bike.

Tell me about it... I am going to miss the throttle response and break neck speeds of the GSXR but I am not going to miss the seating position and sore back. The best part about getting rid of that for the Super-10 is that my wife is now excited to go out riding with me now. My goals were simple to me yet hard to find... It had to look cool to me, get at least 40mpg, has factory hard bags, and comfortable for both passenger and rider. Most people would think Harley Cruiser or something like it but not me. I refuse to get a Harley cruiser or any cruiser! I like my things to be.... different and slightly unconventional. The Super-10 fits the bill to the T.

I am excited to get it and stretch its legs out. ::021::

I bought the Yamaha hard bags and they were back ordered also but they came in a month early. I also got the Yamaha heated grips , tank bag and side wind deflectors. I went with the Alt-Rider skid plate ,crash bars and drive boot guard . I have no regrets so far with any of it. I did pull the skid plate to do my first service but it was no big deal. My wife likes my ST much better than my VSTAR1300t with drag pipes . You will enjoy your new ST ::021::

How do you like the factory bags? Did you get the liners too? I was looking at some of the aftermarket bags they are all extremely expensive and none IMO seemed to flow with the looks of the bike.

The first modification that will be done to it when I get it is going to be the addition of a backrest for my wife. I have yet to find an aftermarket one for these things which leaves me to fabricating one myself. I think she will be in heaven with a backrest on the thing!

I like the hard bags just fine but didn't buy the liners . I like how easy they come off the bike. The locks were a pain to install but work well. I bought a waterproof soft bag from Cabelas that I will top pack most of my stuff. Some of the guys have made backrests that look good . Look under mods for the tread . ::022::

I also want to do the T.W.A.T. this summer. As for the back rest, if you get the stock top box you can get a pad for that. Check it out on the yamaha-motor site.

Got around 230miles on this thing so far and I am absolutely loving it! It doesn't have the power thrill of my GSXR but I am enjoying being more comfortable and just taking it easy. Very comfortable and nimble bike. I am currently looking for some heated grips for it, I dont think I can bring myself to spend $320 on the Yamaha ones..
