Hi Everyone,

Figured I'd offer up an intro as per the apparent custom -

Just picked up a 2015 S10 ES a few weeks ago.

After riding a C10 Concours for the last year, but ADV /ADV ish (Versys 650) bikes and dual sports have been what I've mostly owned/ridden prior. it's nice to be back on something dirt capable. I've enjoyed my concours, but wanted something more dirt oriented, while keeping the tubeless tires and shaft drive, and I'm not quite ready to pay the BMW tax or develop a starbucks addiction. I'm hoping the S10 is that nice halfway point between my versys (which I loved and rode the snot out of) and the Africa Twin I had

Hilariously enough, already met another Super 10 owner without even leaving my subdivision!

My 2015 is pretty well kitted out, but after spending a day riding it and then going over it a bit in further detail, realized the dreaded "stay 1" windshield/instrument panel support was broken- a previous owner had attempted some sort of repair that gave up. So my first "getting to know you" job on the bike these past few days have been replacing it- and after tearing the front end apart, I don't fault the previous owner one bit for trying to take the easy way out. At any rate, I've got the new piece bolted in - just slowly putting everything else back together (and trying to remember where some of the bolts for the inner side panels) go. I plan on adding a front/rear dashcam as well given my primary intended usage.

Probably going to use the bike as much for commuting as anything else, but already have what I'm hoping will be a short early season hop through part of Michigan's UP here in a few weeks as I go to visit a friend. Looks like my bike does have the stock exhaust- assuming that's US forest service legal in terms of Decibel level/spark arresting ? I doubt I'll wind up anything too crazy trail wise, but there are a couple of former RR grades in the UP that are ORV trails that I think the super 10 could handle pretty easily, and I'd like to make sure I'm legal.

Welcome, from Texas. I used to live in Lincoln Park back in the day. And my grandpa lived in Wyandotte.

Welcome, I have lots of friends in/ from Detroit area and have done lots of exploring in the mitten but as you know the real gem is the UP. Welcome to the board and you’re don’t fall in the LOVE with the ST.
The ST would be perfect to rip around the velodrome with how rough the surface has gotten. Enjoy.
