Hi guys...gals....new one is in the garage....out with the old, in with the new....07 FLHTCU and 06 KLR ......did the seat mod before I left the dealer as the test ride had me deciding to stay on the HD!
SW racks are on and panniers on the way. Credit card groaning in pain. If I can get Time share rented and kids to decide to visit a different week I might go to Whitehorse!.....anyone have a motel room there they'd like to split costs on??

Congrats on the new bike! Nice to see another local on here.

Whitehorse would be a smokin' trip so I hope it works out for you. At any rate, there are a few of us trying to get together for a meet and greet down in Brown County at the Story Inn on some Saturday in June. Join in if you can. Here is the thread: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=4378.0

As far as the noises go, I can't say for sure. I will say my bike has lot's of noises and I would say they are normal. The bike has smoothed out and loosened up with the miles I've put on so I would say just ride it and break her in. The drive train clunking is not something that I experienced though but maybe other members have.

WElcome on, jonkertb. Hope you can make it to Whitehorse. the most normal noise you will hear from now on is KA-CHING when the cash register goes off, for the farkles. Not to worry. It's normal. R ::004:: ::022::

Clunking is not normal. The engine is Noisy, mine really smoothed out after 4k. Now at 6k it is smooth and quiet.

The "clunking" is very metallic in sound and comes from driveline lash. I can make it repeatable by going slightly off and on the throttle...I'll put it on the center stand and see how far I can turn the wheel in each gear??
