Welcome. I was in the same boat you are in last Fall when I first was introduced to the Super Tenere. I couldn't shake the desire so I sold my Honda ST1300 last month and bought a shiny new blue Yamaha. Traded one ST for another you could say. No regrets with the change in motos. Good luck with your transition to the Super Tenere.

Welcome to the forum. I don't know what part of MO you are in, but if you are anywhere close to Niehaus Cycle Sales in Litchfield, IL, they are a Honda/Yamaha dealer and would be glad to take your GL1800 and/or KLR in on trade on a new Super Tenere. They have several in stock and have a demo for you to ride.

They are 1 hour NE of St Louis, exit 52 off of I 55.

They are my long time dealer (since 1973) and have treated me very well over those years and I have worked part time for them, helping out in sales and setup. I traded my ST1300 on my Super Tenere there and sold my KLR and am very happy.

Old Guys Rule! Go for it. Its a great bike. Its more like your KLR only a lot faster and more comfortable. And it'll go a lot more places than your Wing. ::001::

Welcome oldude. Tis the season for bikes to sell quickly. FredZ has a point as possible trade for the luxobike for a new Tenere. Coming from a wing, the Tenere will feel like a dirt bike. Enjoy!

I graduated from LS High School in '87. After years of wandering, I got my BA from the MU @ Columbia. And my wife is planning on attending law school at St Louis University. I'll be living in StL 1 week a month for the next 3 years. It would seem that I can't escape the pull of Misery Missouri. LOL

Got it!...Thanks to fredz for telling me about Niehaus Cycles. I sent them a bunch of pics of my bikes & then yesterday I took a day off from work & loaded the wing & KLR & hauled them across the state so they could look at them. I'm happy to say that Bob & everybody at Niehaus treated me great & were willing to make a good deal on trade in. I am now the happy owner of a shiny, clean (for a while) new black ST, with not too much financial stress...lol ...I also got to meet Fred in person as he is helping them out with their big customer appreciation blowout this weekend. A good bunch to deal with...I will just have to apologize to whoever gets the job of cleaning the many layers of gravel dust off of my trade-ins...haha... & now today I can start the break-in & get some gravel dust on the new bike...lol...

Congrats on your new Super Tenere, oldude. It was a pleasure meeting you and I am glad the deal worked out for you.

By the end of the day, your KLR was cleaned up by our detailing guy. It was looking good and was on the lot with the rest of the pre owned bikes.

Thanks for the kind comments and good luck with your new bike.
