Sounds like a good plan. Mine failed on my '12 at 83k miles. A few have failed around 50k miles. If the valves haven't been checked, that would be a good time to have it done. It will get noisier on the right side on cold start ups before it fails. If you suspect it and it's gotten louder for a longer period during cold start ups, DON'T CHANGE THE OIL. Oil pressure helps the CCT do it's thing. Have it checked out before you change the oil, IF you have any doubts. I knew mine was getting bad, rattling on cold start up for 10-20 seconds, but was on a trip. When I got home, I changed the oil before taking it to the dealer for the valve service and CCT. It failed the moment I tried to start it after the oil change.
I had to have it towed and it was a 4 month repair under warranty.
Odds are you will NOT have this issue! But it's good to be aware of it.
