Hi All
First thanks to admin for getting my login sorted had to go through trevor on the other tenere board as the thing wasnt working !! still all sorted now

my name is Steve and im based in hertfordshire i call myself russells ride purely because it was the estate i grew up on and used that on the sv forum (great forum by the way)http://www.sv-portal.com/ I had an sv and a v strom 1000 which i am now flogging to get the s10, will be picking it up from woodford motorcycles on the 1st of march , I have already added a few goodies inc givi screen , givi trekkers luggage to come and a baglux harness ,think i will also give those fancy little wing things a go as well ..oh and i have added the heated grips ..funny thing is i was going to go for either this or the explorer from triumph and when i got to the recent MCN show in London the yamaha and triumph stand were next to each other with the 2 bikes only about 50 ft apart and im afraid in the flesh i wasnt so keen on the explorer ,it sort of looks a bit ..well parts binny if you know what i mean and all a bit to angular for my taste, and the tanks to small and who needs 135hp on this sort of bike , anyway i got a test ride tuesday from woodford m/c on a second hand one and even though it was freezing cold i thought the fueling at low speed low revs was perfect (compared to vstrom)it actually felt lighter and more flickable than the vstrom, even though its a lot heavier, suspension was great ,ditto brakes, screen was crap and the sidestand is awkward to flick out unless you get your foot under the footrest first but thats fairly minor, plus it was new for 10k and had finance at 4.9apr,so that sealed it !!! over on the sv forum we often meet up for rideouts and annual meets (even though most of us now dont have an sv!!) so I am hoping this forum will be just as good and we can meet up soon.
all the best
steve

HI Matt will pm you when i get the bike and have a ride over , your right about the vstrom to i have had mine since 06 and apart from a clutch slave seal replacement i have not had one single issue with it in over 30k miles ,i have got a load of extras on it and will try to sell it on ebay this weekend or failing that MCN what do you thinks best or just go for both?

I would take all the aftermarket bits off and sell them on the Vstrom forum. Then advertise the bike on there too, and try Ebay.

Really looking forward to 1 March now! About to order my panniers from Poland...
