New member here from the Houston area. I have been a daily lurker on this site for over a year and after meeting a forum member on Sunday at a gas stop the idea to join was galvanized. We talked for over an hour and it seemed like 10 minutes had passed.

I have ridden and still ride my HD bikes and I like them. Around year 2000 I began to entertain the idea of buying an Adv motorcycle and looked at the GS -GSA models several times.

When the Buell Ulyses was introduced I bought a ULY and absolutely loved the bike and hated it when the Bonehead HD CEO decided to drop Buell. When parts became scarce I let the Uly go which is a decision I regret however the hunt for a replacement began.

I came across an article comparing the Uly and ST and this forum was referenced. Following the link put this forum in my favorites which is read several times every day.

Since reading the Uly - ST article and following this forum I have dimissed all of the other brands due to ergonomics. The ST fits me - like fits me perfectly. Recently visited a shop that had the Tiger, Multistrada, GS and GSA. The ST was like a hand in the glove fit.

Currently - the biggest concern I have about getting a ST is the economy and my work status. Our projects are down. I have been thinking about juggling the HD line up and replace a HD bike with a ST.

That's me and if your read this far - thanks! I am looking forward to getting back into the Adv type of riding and learmning more about the ST.

Welcome Woodreaux! I too am in the Houston area. Although I am fairly new to the ST family (I got mine about 6 weeks ago), I can assure you that you will not be disappointed! I've had a chopper, cruiser and a crotch rocket and this is by far the most fun I've had on a bike.

Appreciate the welcome, it's nice being a member and not lurking about.
Hopefully a bike will be come available this fall , getting anxious and don't want to make an emotional impulsive purchase!!

To a degree, all bike purchases are emotional, but I understand avoiding an impulse buy!

Welcome aboard!
