Hi All - Just registered on the site. I started riding back in the late 60's, got away from riding for several years then started again along with my wife about 20 years ago.
I currently ride a 2013 Triumph Explorer and my wife rides a Kawasaki Ninja 1000. We travel often together and have seen most of the USA and part of Europe on two wheels.
If I did my signature block correctly you should be able to visit my photo site of our travels.
I will be trading my Explorer in the next 60 days for a Tenere and hope to pick up farkle ideas from the site.
I met several of the forum members last summer for a lunch ride in Southern Indiana (on the Ohio River) while passing through the area.
My wife and I are active members in the Motorcycle Sport Touring Association (www.ridemsta.com and attend several of their events throughout the riding season.
Looking forward to meeting the folks here and getting ideas for setting up my Tenere. -JEP-

Welcome, ridemyst. I'm over in the Clearwater area, so perhaps we will share a ride sometime. Have you & the Mrs. been to Solomon's Castle in Ono? Could make a day trip for you guys with lunch on the Boat in the Moat.

ridemyst, I don't do a lot of rides down by the big lake just because the roads are typically flatter & straighter than what I can ride in the central/north areas. I just might try to show up at one of the MSTA rides though. Ever try the Jacaranda Hotel in Avon Park for Sunday lunch? Usually pretty good...

We went to lunch there years back. They had a guy playing the piano back then.
A Sunday lunch (after playoffs are over) sounds good. -JEP-

That sounds like a great idea. Still planning your Alaskan trip this year? If so maybe I can offer some suggestions.

Are you going to have it at the MSTA ride Sat? If so I'll have to show up!

Just remember it takes forever for the motor to break in. Feels like its seized for the first 500 miles!

Welcome, Jim! bcd from MSTA here. Congrats on the new Super Ténéré! Too bad about the Explorer. But I'm sure you'll love this bike.

This is a great forum, with tons of nice folks and good information.

Thanks Brian. I see that Brick and Fred are also on here.
I've been mainly lurking and reading threads for technical information. It's much like the ST-Owners forum which is also a great site.
I'm keeping my Hepco-Becker cases, updating my GPS to the 590LM, going completely Bluetooth (anybody want a used J&M CB at a good price?), adding a skid plate and engine guards and moving over my Skene P3 tail lights.
I still have a few more farkles to add, highway lights for sure but after that I should have the setup I want.
Picking up the bike this morning and going to a MSTA lunch tomorrow to show off the new ride (along with Don Moe who just got a new GS). -JEP-
