Hi guys !
I’ve been riding a S10 for 8 years now. I’m on my second one. My first was a 2015 ES that I totalled with 205 000km on the clock. My current one is a regular 2014 S10, now with 176 000km on the clock.

I seriously ride my Pig offroad and wouldn’t change it for anything else…

Cheers and looking forward to exchange infos on this fabulous beast !

Welcome!!!...Since you have been the owner of 2 S10s, with several km traveled on both...what maintenance routine did you apply during those km? (I am referring to intervals in fluid changes and type of fluids, filter and spark plug changes, regulation of valves, used tires, etc)…Did you make any modifications to it that ended up being an improvement for you? (like a flash, suspension)…..Did you have any serious problems?…
It is good to know, from someone who has not belonged to the forum, has traveled many km, and continues choosing the S10 to continue traveling km…
I think it is good to add to the forum your experience…

Welcome ST Frank ! .. greetings from Maine.. last September I rode from Maine to Quebec City then NE up Rte 138 along the Western side of the St Lawrence we stayed in Tadoussoc, took the ferry over the Sageunay River then rode to Baie Comeau the next day day to Sept Illes. Amazing country and gorgeous ride. Saw plenty of Hydro Quebec dams along the Sageunay River. Great area to ride.

Thanks for the welcome !
These 2 bikes have been awesome over the years ! Oil change and filter each 6000km (Shell Rotella T4 and HiFlo filter), gear oil every 3 oil changes or when lots of water crossings, irridium plugs at 100 000km, air filter after each season (HiFlo air filters, half what Yamaha charges). Never checked valves on my first one (205 000km) and they were in spec on my second one at 78 000km (now at 136 000km). I changed a coolant hose and rear wheel bearings on my first (at 200 000km !!) and the water pump on my second (small oil leak from the weep hose). The only real problem is my abs unit is acting up and my rear brake is constantly getting mushy. Have to bleed it often. The unit is very expensive (weird that it’s the only german part on the bike and it failed ! ). I had the rear shock rebuilt and modified last year : a real game changer, as I ride the Pig pretty rough offroad. I’ve been running MotoZ Tractionator Adventure tires for the last 6 sets of tires, and they are just stellar offroad and perform very well on road. Downside : noisy AF on tarmac !!

Cheers ! And don’t hesitate to ask questions !
