About three weeks ago I purchased an 2015 Super Tenere ES - nice Purdy red. I had to trade in my 2002 GL1800 Goldwing and my Kawasaki KLR650 and still throw some cash at it to buy it - these things are expensive. I decided on the Super Tenere because I figured it was a good compromise between the two trade in bikes. I loved my Goldwing but I hated riding past those gravel forest service road without going up them - not a good idea on a Goldwing. The KLR was great but... my butt....was only good for an hour or two on that bike. I already have about 800 miles on the Super Tenere and have had the first service done already. - story - After this service I rode about 50 miles before going home. I got home parked it on the center stand then left for 3 days. On my return home I decided to go for a ride. The idiot service guy apparently had not screwed in the shaft nut/bolt thingy and I had a puddle of gear oil on the tire and floor. I tightened it up - about a full revolution. What a great start with Skagit Powersports in Burlington, Wa. I am headed back to the dealer tomorrow to discuss our future. I like the Super Tenere but I do miss the cushy comfort and smooth power of the Goldwing. The great handling of the Super Tenere will probably make up for it though. I am retired - live in Skagit County Washington. My riding will be about 70% pavement. We have great forest service roads around here to play with. Also, the stock tires do not like mud I found out but are ok on dry gravel and dirt.

Welcome. The new bike would be a good middle ground between the two previous ones. You could ride the Tenere the same places you took either of those bikes, without having to decide which bike to ride. Bummer on the poor dealer experience, hopefully they can regain your trust.

Welcome and congrats on your new bike!

I had a couple of KLRs and a Honda ST1100 and I think I rode by those same forest roads as that's what made me get my Super Tenere too. Now I just head on into the woods anytime I want to.

There are LOTS of Super Tenere riders here in the PNW. You can check up on events on this forum in the PNW tread at: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?board=30.0 Also consider joining the Facebook group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/508180775912122/

There are rides planned every month. Hope to meet you soon!

Saw a non-ES red in stock at Wenatchee Powersports. That is a very fine looking bike.

The weather's been sunny and upper 50's around here, so I've racked up 540 mile on my blue '14. Been down some gravel and mud roads, standing up definitely helps with the slip slidin feeling.

I'm impressed with the power, its on road manners, and that cruise control...I can't believe the precision.

Looking forward to putting on some slightly dirt oriented tires and hitting the mud and gravel again with a bit more confidence. I think the new TKC 70's look like a nice compromise.

Anyways, Welcome aboard, lots of interesting reading around here.
Need to get up your way and see all those tulips this spring.

Welcome from Oklahoma! ::004:: It won't be long before you forget about the Lazy Boy bike and really get into what you can do with the S10...

Welcome from so cal. I'm in the same boat ,getting rid of other bikes that I don't ride now that I have the tenere. With everything these bikes can do I don' t think you will miss the old ones. Have fun and ride often!
