Hello everybody.

I'm new here on the forum. My name is Filipe, I am 28 years old. I just register now. I'm from the south of Portugal, a small village called Aljustrel. I love maxi-trail bikes, traveling for weeks, sometimes without plans, just discovering and feel alive. I have a xt1200z (matte grey) 12´. I am planning a trip to Morocco with some friends. I hope to exchange ideas with the members of this forum and help if I have some useful information to share. respects

PS-English is not my main language, sorry if something does not make sense

(first day)

Welcome to the forum and your English is great! But we like lots of pictures, so make sure you take many pictures on your trips. That Grey looks awesome, love it!

Welcome on, Filipe from Portugal. Tenere is spoken here, so you're doing just fine. Matte Gray. I have a brand new gray Tenere waiting for me at the local Yamaha dealer. Waiting for warm weather. Congrats on the new bike, and ::004:: to the Forum. Send us some pics when you get the chance. R ::022::

I speak Portuguese, but I sometimes use google translator to see how funny it translates to English. Google does a good job except when short form (text) spelling is used, 'd+ and mt', or missing accents.
d+= de mais
mt = muito
"Vitor, antes d+, um mt obrigado..." Vitor, first of all, a big thank you....

A word I like in Portuguese, is the word Abraço=Hug. Here in Canada, we don't finish a phone conversation, E-mail, etc with a word hug with our male friends.
In Portugal the word love is reserved for a few people in our lives. Here in Canada we use the word love for everything, I even love my Tenere, well, not the last few weeks :-\ . All of this because I'm bored, too much snow outside. :)

Hi Flydream , I thought you were planing to ride here in May. ;D well, I went to the rental place, they only know in the spring if they'll rent the bikes this year. Apparently the insurance is killing them with the bikes, "it's very hard in Ontario".

erenet, thanks for looking into the rental place. ::008::
I have a few days off in May, from 9 until 16 ( Alentejo ), and I'm sure I'll be in Toronto for a week, before ( or after ) that.
I have no problems carrying my bike on "my" plane, I just don't know ( yet ) what is the paperwork needed, to bring the bike, and stay for a week in Canada.
Abraço aos dois ( Filipe e erenet ) ::003::

That's funny too. For Felipe, going to morroco is like for us to go to the store and pick up a gallon of milk.

Erenet, we don't even want to go there! If you knew of all the crazy translations.
And Flydream, you live on the Azores with a ST? Where the hell do you ride? In circles around the Island?

Flyrider,

That's so crazy cool! Thanks for the pictures. I've been to the Azores but on a military flight in and out.
If you come to the Rally, will you bring your bike? I think there are some options as to renting bikes, maybe not a Tenere, but who cares. I don't have a bike and if I still don't by June, I'm still going!
