I've given into all the positive reviews of the flash. I haven't been on a good ride since Colorado either. I have booked a double room at the Faust Hotel and brewery for the dates above. I should make it into NB late sat. afternoon or early evening. I want to ride the 3 Sisters loop on Sunday and will get the flash Monday morning when AF 1 opens before heading home. NB looks like a neat town with German heritage ie good foods and drink. If you would like to joined me the room is paid for if you do not mind being in same room or they probably have more rooms available. Faust Hotel was built in 1929 six months before the market crashed. It's been remodeled and is downtown with brewery, bar, and restaurant. It's walking distance to AF 1 and lots of places to eat and drink. It would be nice to have a bud hang out with. If your interested in getting the flash or just checking out the Hill country should be a fun weekend.

I'll be in that area middle of that following week. I still can't wait to get to Texas and I hope to get an opportunity to meet up with some of our Texas contingent.

Sounds like a helluva good time! I assume you'll slab it both ways, or you going to take some scenic bypasses?

Florida to Texas. There are scenic bypasses?

That's the I10 corridor. Go left, you are swimming in the gulf.
Go right and you are headed north of the mason-dixie.

Not saying there aren't places to ride. But you wont be going east-west. :)

Fortunately, you can haul butt though. (With one eye looking out for smokie)

Hey coastie I think I know what you mean. To bad you'll be out of town we could have found a river to sit in and drink beer.

Surely someone can get a kitchen pass for a guy weekend.

Snake I hope your team wins.

Just to resurrect this thread, I'm thinking that when I get a flash done I'd prefer to get a nice ride out of it and head to New Braufels to have it done.

I have a few questions for you. Did they flash the bike while you waited? how long did that take? I assume they don't do it on Saturdays and that's why you waited until Monday? Was it the difference as obvious as most people claim?

Finally, what did you think of the hotel?

Hey Bart

Af1 is closed sat,sun so I scheduled to be there Monday when they opened. Call Ed and order the flash tell him when your coming, literally take 5 to 10 minutes. He showed me around the shop while it downloaded. He will let you pull into the shop so you can remove the ECU. And yes it really enhances the bike. I would do it again. It wasn't the most pleasant ride down rain off and on a lot, seems like I spent the whole weekend running from rain.I liked Texas speed limits. The Faust is a nice place to stay small rooms but I liked it.
They had good beer and food. It's close to some good restaurants. All those guys I met at the shop were super nice guys. Do it you will not regret it!
