Congrats!

But

Why did you strap it up on the wall?
Haha. It kind of looks that way but I assure you it's not. I snapped a couple of lousy pics with my phone after I rolled it into the trailer. Too bad it's cold and snowy outside.

The pics bring a question to mind. I rode to Dallas monday and bought a truck , rented a trailer and hauled the S10 back
It was my first time strapping down my bike. I ran the straps around the triple tree and latched the hook on the engine block thing. It worked pretty good.

I would think the handle bars would be apt to bend....

How is it supposed to be done?

BTW- I love that red metallic color!

Congrats, hope it warms up and the snow melts for you.

I wouldn't tie to the bars on a heavy bike.

I strap mine down with soft ties to the lower tree/fork brace.
Pick your poison on the rear, somewhere to the frame near the passenger pegs.

With my method you need a long soft tie in order to keep the tie down hook from rubbing the plastic cowling, how much is dependent on the angle of the dangle of the tie down strap from the forks to the floor of the trailer.

I'm in Alberta. The snow will be here for a while yet. I had to drive 3 hrs to Pi k up the bike. I strapped it down and headed to a buddies place for the weekend/bike show. I've always strapped down my MX bikes like this but maybe you're right. A 60lb bike deserves more attention when securing. This is my work trailer so strapping options are limited. I'll look closer before I head back home on Sunday.

Got to admit too... that red color matches the S10 perfectly.
Congrats!!
Thanks. I like the red color too but I e always liked the blue. I like the white as well but blue is my favourite color for this bike. I e always preferred black wheels so the silver with blue wheels/rims wasn't an option this year although it's grown on me lately.

Did they rubber-ize the handle bar risers on the new bikes? That's the main reason to not use the bars, tears up the rubber bushings. There's somebody out there making a tiedown mounting point that slips over the grips... bar dancer? Not feasible with hand guards of course. Bikes with a lot of plastic sure make things interesting sometimes.

I had no idea there were problems with strapping down a bike by the handlebars. I've strapped down everything by the handlebars for years. From my old GSX-R racebike to my dirtbikes. No issues that I'm aware of. Of course, none of them were 600lbs.

I just talked to a friend of mine in San Mateo. It looks like I'll be heading down the California coast and picking him up and heading south from there. I'm sure my Tenere will be able to hang with his Multistrada...right? ::025::

That's hilarious. It will definitely find its way into my buddy's inbox. I assure you, it's very real and very cool.
barkinglizard, are you saying you have that many kms on your tenere? I'm impressed and intrigued. Maybe I should hook up with the Calgary Teneire boys. I have a friend with an 1190 in Canmore and we're always looking for new places to ride. Evidently, you've found a few. lol
