Well, to be perfectly clear, I'm new to the forum and purchased my 2012 Super Tenere (XTZ12BB) in November.
Traded in my BMW R1100RT after 125,000 miles and missed the old girl for all of two days. What can I say, I feel like I am one with my XTZ! The Beemer was more of a long distance sled, but unless taking the curves and scraping pegs, it just felt like I was riding as a co-pilot... if that makes sense. The XTZ exhilarates me whenever I'm riding.
Just clocked 10,000 miles without any issues and enjoying it as much as when I first got the motorcycle. Spent the last week in sand (Ocala Forest) with some TKC80's and though the bike is heavy, as long as I have a straight shot, I'm good... still have to learn to steer with the rear when in deep sand. Going on a camping trip in the Everglades this weekend before switching back to Shinko 705's for street riding.
Thanks to this forum, I got my headlight wiring harness replaced under warranty last Month after the left socket failed on a trip back from New Orleans; Fixed a down shifting issues by greasing the shift lever pivot; Removed the front and rear wheels and changed tires. Great source of knowledge and advice, thanks again.
