Just purchased a new (to me) 2012 Super Tenere here in St. Louis. Got it 10 days ago.

Only had the opportunity (due to this fabulous weather here in the midwest) to put about 500 miles on it, but so far it is exactly what I expected to be.

What a lot of fun. And surprising nimble in slow-speed maneuvers. In fact despite weighing 100 lbs more my DL650, I find it actually easier to make tight U-Turns and other slow-speed handling drills. Needless to say it is a lot more capable and enjoyable during higher speed riding as well.

PLUS: No chain maintenance. I am obviously getting lazy but boy do I enjoy not messing with cleaning, adjusting and lubricating; not to mention changing sprocket and chains every 15,000 miles. Shaft pays for itself pretty quickly in Convenience alone.

A thoroughly enjoyable ride that is for me "all day comfortable" ... particularly compared to my FJR.

Hi Banks,

Didn't know that was you until Gee Tee posted

Glad you got your S10. I understand that Tony got one too. Pretty soon we'll have more Teneres than KLR's at our Tues lunch meet. I'll be glad when this darn weather clears so I can ride down and see you guys.

Howdy from NE Missouri. As an ex- FJR owner and current DL650 and S10 owner, I know what you mean about the differences.

Welcome Sal
I could not let go of my FJR so now I have a back up bike.

I certainly understand that. Unfortunately riding my FJR hurts my leg enough that I have to stop after a couple of hours for a long break before I get back on. I'm so goofy, I wouldn't be surprised if when I sell the FJR I don't find another WeeStrom as my back up bike.

Sure wish though that I could get a CBF1000 as my 2nd bike. Rode one in Canada and UK. Absolutely loved it. Light weight, responsive, agile and most of all surprisingly comfortable. Just a hoot for a day ride.
