Just picked up a new S10. Love the bike, but the seat is killing me after only 25 miles. I already leveled it out with the seat bumper fix, but I have a couple pressure points still. I've done a search on here and the internet and am not finding the info I'm looking for.

So, I'm looking for opinions on what you're running. Corbin, Sargent, Saddlemen, modified stock seat or other. I found a company called Astech that will modify the stock seat too. Interested in what everyone has to say.

I run a Russell and love it. Other options (besides the ones you mentioned) are Bill Mayer and LAAM. If you weigh ~250 lbs or more, Mayer will direct you to Russell.

It took Russell a couple of shots to get my saddle right, but it's pretty well dialed in now. I think I was one of their first builds for the Tenere. They've done lots more since, so should be able to get it closer to perfect the first time.

I never liked the stock seat either... But I did do a 900-mile day on one and didn't really suffer.

I have a Sargent here, but it's terrible. Funny, too, as I have loved several Sargent seats I've had on other bikes. The Sargent I have is the latest 'Version 2", and it's hard to put my finger on exactly all that's *wrong* with it... It's shaped odd, not fitting me at all. Has pressure points just like the stock one, just in different places. Feels *shorter* fore-and-aft than a stocker when you're riding on it. Just odd all the way around.

The best one I've tried so far is a used Cee Bailey-modded one I got used from EricV here on the board. Despite his concerns it wouldn't *fit* or work for me, it's been stellar. Light-years more comfortable than either a stocker or the Sargent, with a wonderful rounded shape with no seams, edges, etc. Has worn like iron, and it not only fits well but looks *right* on the bike somehow - like it belongs there. I like it, and have stopped looking for another seat... At least for now. I'd gladly have Cee Bailey's do another if I had to replace this one.

I'll sell the Sargent if anyone is interested...

Seat Concepts is another lower cost option. Couple threads on the forum with positive results...

What is your body specs? Height, weight?
I found the stock seat the best of any of my 8 other bikes LOL.
Last day of a 4600km trip I did 900km and was comfy in the seat.

For the lower cost option I've been very happy with my seat concepts set up. Other wise I would get the Russell

When I rode to get my Russell I believe I was "loaned" Merchant's or Motocephlic's. All of us were around early September of 2011.

Can't go wrong with a Russell Day Long. The ride in program was a nice experience if you aren't too far away or up for a ride.

Seat Concept's looks like a good deal. Anybody do their own installation of the foam and cover?
For 20 bucks and shipping, it might be worth sending it to them though.

I had a local guy do mine. Be sure to include your weight in the comment section od the order form. If required the will include a higher density foam.

Corbin for me, and I'll never have any other seat again

I suffered from severe "sleepypeepee" from the stock seat, bad news when the needles of blood flow return sensitivity

Had a Corbin n my previous bike as well....

Seats are like tires and oil, everyone has an opinion and everyone is right

I went to an upholsterer and asked him to turn my seat into a lounge chair. Mission accomplished and only $80. Dual density foam added to original then shaped and contoured. Cover is seam sealed and water proof non slip. Got rid of the forward tilt as well. Very Happy.

It took a fairly long time for him to do the seat for me but Rick Mayer did mine. The comfort is excellent compared to the stock seat. Particularly if you have a bony ass like me where the stock seat gives you hell pretty quickly. I know others don't suffer like me but seats have always been a major issue for me. The Rick Mayer seat was worth the wait and very reasonable cost wise.

The Tenere seat shown in this link is exactly what he did for me but mine was vinyl weave pattern and not leather. I'm sure I could ride on this seat for full days without problems. Have already done some 1/2 day stints and had zero numb bum, discomfort or just begging for that next stop.
We are all different but if the stock seat does to you what you describe you are not much different to me.

Well done at a bargain price. I really like how it keeps the stock coloring. ::012:: Would you happen to have a link for the shop?

I'm also overseas from the US, what did it run all said and done? Pics would be great.

Haha, sorry its not that type of shop. An upholsterer who works from a shed in his yard. I'll ask him if he is keen for any extra work. Cheers
