I am heading to the beach next week and will literally be parking the bike for 4 nights on the beach in the sand. I was just informed about this and need to cover the bike. I am already planning to send a 1ft by 1 ft piece of plywood for the kickstand. Since this is a brand new '15 I want to protect it from the blowing sand as much as possible. I would like several options but protecting sensors like abs and others is important to me. I have searched and found a few threads but I feel there is more to be fleshed out. Thanks for the input.

Dowco Guardian Weatherall Plus, about $90. Any shop can order it for you or try RevZilla for same day shipping.

I've got a full bike cover that I haven't used in several years. Let me get it out of storage tomorrow and check it out. I may be able to give you a heckuva deal on this one.

Check Formosa Covers.com. Very well made and I think I paid $30 for mine. Fits great too!

It turns out that I have 2 bike covers that I haven't used in long time and don't foresee using them again. The blue one is a lighter material and OSI brand. It would work well if you were not going to have panniers on when the bike is covered as in the pic with that cover. The other is a heavier material and fits well with panniers, which are on in that pic.. Your choice for $20, which includes posting via USPS Flat Rate box, which is most of the cost. :)

Be careful to park nose into the wind or behind some windblock. That cover can be a sail and I've had a bike blown over because I wasn't thinking.

sorry for being away, it has been crazy. I have a taller windshield and like the idea of using the heavier cover. PM me if you think the heaver one would work with a taller windshield.

Thanks to a neighbor that just moved in a few weeks ago I was able to get a free cover. I want to thank Fred for his offer and have let him know I won't be needing his. I think some other people were interested in the covers....

Which one did you get and does it fit with the bags on?
I got the XL and it does fit nice and snug. I have had the same cover for years and it still looks new. well used but new.
