Can someone help my idenify the holes in the photo? The pic is taken from the LEFT side of the bike looking just above the clutch bleed nipple (you can see the nipple cap at the very bottom of the pic in the middle). The RED arrow is a threaded hole that I think oil may be coming out of. There was not bolt in the hole, yes the hole is threaded. There is also another hole (YELLOW arrow) that is boltless as well.

Can someone take a look at their S10 please tell me if oil should be coming out of the RED arrow hole of if there is supposed to be a bolt in there?

Mine is the same. No bolts there.

On a California bike, there is a bracket holding the charcoal canister and rollover valve bolted there.

If a bracket bolts there, those should just be dead-end threaded holes, right? I can't imagine it being a place where oil can escape. Maybe soak the holes dry with a Q-tip or something, then see if the oil reappears? Maybe something just got in there.

Yep - that will be my afternoon project. I'll clean the area up and then watch again closely to see what happened.

I hate these 'mystery' easter eggs, which is the main rease I switched from a Multistrada ::010::

Thanks to all those who replied.

In lower-left-rear of your air box is a stub for a drain. It's slightly outboard of the threaded hole and over it. Because the air box is also part of the pollution control system the little stub usually holds oil, so you may see if your stub came off. Also check for wetness around the rocker cover gasket and any vent hoses.

Is this 'stub' you speak of clear? If so, mine is still on.
