I've managed to get through almost an entire year without getting caught in the rain on my Super Tenere. When I bought my bike, it already had a set of Puig Crash bars installed. Anyway, so I was riding along to get some service done on my bike and the weather was just mildly drizzly, not even raining.. just moist outside. Well, I dressed appropriately for the weather and went on my way. Less then 1 mile down the road, I start to sense a cold sensation in my boots. I think to my self, WTF? I just left! How can my boots be wet already? I wish they were just wet.. no, they were ABSOLUTELY SOAKED. I'm trying to figure out how this happened so I ride and look down at my feet and notice that the rain is collecting on the Puig bars, flowing down to the bottom and as the rain drops collect and fall off the bottom, they fly towards my boot from the wind and have a constant stream of water flowing into my boots!

Needless to say I've invested in some boot coverings that will solve this problem once and for all... I ordered up these

Bought boot covers from cycle gear last week, they have a full rubber sole, brand is Built tornado waterproof boot covers, they seem great but I have not been able to put them to a good test yet. $21.09 delivered to my house, I somehow got free shipping because when I stopped at the store my size xxlarge was out of stock.

I bought a set of Alpinestars waterproof boots, if they do fail me I have had a set of boot covers for a few years now that I could use. The idea of buying the waterproof boots was so I wouldn't need to take them along anymore though.

As a moto commuter in FL: LOL!

Yeah, but at least your rain is warm. It was the same way when I was in San Diego, concrete roads with good traction, rain wasn't really an issue. Poor RicoChet is in Ontario, I want NO part of his rain. ::025::

I played games with "water proof" gear for several years before I bought my first gore-tex product. Several years of effectively living in a trashbag, getting soaked inside from sweat instead of rain. If you want to commute and stay dry, Gore-tex. There is no replacement. (I'm not a Gore-tex salesman either...)
