Long time lurker, first time caller.

Picked up my 2014 ST in Romney West Virginia on Thursday, hauled it home to Maine...now in storage. Tried to buy this bike from about 5 other dealers and found Romney to have the best price and they were easy to deal with over the phone. They still have one 14 ES in stock (mine is non-ES).

Looking forward to enjoying the bike and already have enjoyed this site.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy the new ride. Romney puts on a Tenere Rally every year that I'm envious of. I really would like to make it up there next year.

Hi Tim,
Welcome, you will totally fall in love with this bike!!! I'm down in Rockport, Ma. There are a bunch of us in the North East. Lots of dirt in the area if you know where to look. I maintain an e-mail list of area riders. I've not been much of a part of the riding this past season but next week I move to the day shift from the w/e's. Should open up a lot more possibilities to ride and camp. GPS, you got to have it if you're going to find the dirt! Ping me with your e-mail address if you want to join the list.
Later,
Norm

Congrats on the new bike and welcome.

I've bought 3 of my last 4 bikes from Romney, so I know what you mean about easy to deal with. They do a lot of out of state business.

As costie mentioned, Romney does an adventure event every 1st weekend in May. They will be doing it again in 2015. Mark your calendar and keep watching the Events section here. We'll probably start talking about it in January.

Thanks for the welcome. I have GPS and know how to use it for sure. I am pretty lucky on the dirt side of this hobby as I have a camp in far eastern Maine about a stones throw from the Maine Rail Trail and ride wheelers and dirt bikes here regularly. My son is far more into the dirt on his CRF250x and wheeler.

I purchased this one to try to ride cross country next summer to go to Glacier and tour the west before I am too old to do it. I want to send it to a drop point next summer and do a one way fly out and do two to three weeks touring the west and riding home after. Hopefully, that will work out. Thanks again, I will be reading as much as I can.

Welcome to the Super Tenere Nation, Tim! The spring of 2015 should be the best one ever for you, as you take your brand-new bike out of storage and begin the Super Ten experience!

Cheers,

Bruce
