Hi guys. long dream to see America))
But there is simply no visa center in Russia. Only in Europe. It is simply impossible to fly there now! So I wanted to know if it is possible to fly to America at the invitation of you?)) And how can this be done?

fly to Mexico and walk over the border , every body else is....
seriously , if you can find away to get here you will have a great time ... the real America is not the big cities but out in the big open spaces of small town America.... but your not going to want to leave once you see it . if you get home sick just find a big city to hang out in awhile ... people are friendly and there is so much to see .... hell ,lived in Texas all my life and haven't even seen it all myself.... the world is a little crazy now and our governments are not happy with each other at the moment .
since this nation is a melting pot of so many peoples from all over the world you can find pieces of the different cultures every where especially in food places . around here you cant swing a dead cat with out hitting a Mexican restaurant (best food in the world for flavor and so much variety ) arrive in May and stay till September and you might get to see enough to satisfy your bucket list .... camping and eating right with an occasional motel /hotel ,figure about 100.00 a day for the trip and you should do well . an average meal at a fast food place (hamburger fries drink about 10.00 , gas about 3.50 a gallon for premium , with some travel apps. like tavelocity you can find discounted prices on hotel rooms , camp grounds are always cheaper ) now geo political crap has everything price wise in flux . but at 100.00 dollars a day you should do ok. for now anyway. maybe the politicians will pull their heads out of their butts and things will get better . hope you can make it here some day . best wishes from small town America.

my average daily expense for trips was less than 60.00 so leaving 40.00 to carry over to the next . putting the 40 in a separate place for emergency use after 10 days I would still have about 400 I haven't had to spend ... you get the drift...

Nobody gets a visa/passport, or maybe businessmen? Can you get a visa/passport to visit Europe? Then fly from Europe? Or are citizens not allowed to travel abroad?

My passport expired last year. I did not extend it, there was no point! You understand! Well, as long as I can do it. But to go abroad))) It's a matter of time, I think! But if I have an invitation from an American, it will be easier for me to get a visa. Fly to Europe and from there to America.
I know about Mexico. But you need a visa when crossing the border. Otherwise I'll be illegal))))

There are numerous types of visa and if here for less than (iirc) 6 months you are looking for a tourist visa. Last I knew, sponsorship was only for longer term and working (example: ex-wife's original H2 health worker) visa. The following about sponsors is from the US State Department website:
"
Note: Visa applicants must qualify on the basis of the applicant's residence and ties abroad, rather than assurances from U.S. family and friends. A letter of invitation or Affidavit of Support is not needed to apply for a visitor visa. If you choose to bring a letter of invitation or Affidavit of Support to your interview, please remember it is not one of the factors used in determining whether to issue or deny the visa.
"
ref: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html#documentation

I'm not an immigration specialist but it would seem that to see a sponsor listed for a tourist visa would imply the person wants to move to America.

btw -
I've worked with my Russian counterparts (Govt and industry) a number of times and had them to my home. Super warm people and good memories. Definitely able to have fun and get away with whatever they could like the guys in Garage54:

Would love to ride the country but not for the foreseeable future.

Seems like Russo-American relations may take a setback for some time considering the events of the last 24 hours…

All the guys are fucked up. Now I'll never get to you. So it will remain a dream! But still, I'm here and will communicate with you.
One thing I enjoy about Russians is how they get along with anybody and curse at anybody they think is in charge.

Keep at it as I like hearing the perspective from you have some different ways to do things than we are used to.

It's just that America and the British blocked Russian visas. The whole of Europe will follow them.

MFP, Sierra, I meant real , or best if that's less provocative. it is my opinion only not meant to insult any one ..... just leave the city and travel around Upstate New York , completely different in every way. I could explain in more detail but it gets political and CW likes to use the scissors ... away from the cities America is a different place. its a more balanced view people have out there. I've been to New York and it is in my opinion as I expressed it. we all love our home towns , I get that , but NYC is not Buda Texas in any way or Lytton Springs Texas my home town . if you travel through America its mostly small towns , the mom and pop places to eat and shop things are cheaper and life is more relaxed .... I was in downtown Buda yesterday most of the people you meet are from Austin enjoying a stroll through the antique shops and eating at the restaurants . people are just friendly here. go to Austin you worry about your car getting burgled. among other things. it is a different place I would not live there . but Buda is growing and will probably change , to bad as it is a nice place to live.
