I am sure they will attach to that lug bolt on the crash bar. They are too close to the headlight for my liking though. I am mounting them low, and out to the side if possible.
Here is another shot below of the mentioned mounting lugs that I took of the Tenere that was in Hamilton, MT at Al's Cycle

Yes. That is it. I will probably attempt to attach the Primes there.

now that looks like a nice place for my stebel horn. The two bolt holes I was referring to were the ones on the crash bars that had 2 socket screws ready to mount something, near the same location, on the piece that crossed the front.

Clem, I'm jealous you got to ride one before me. I suspect my first test ride will be after I've paid my money and am leaving the dealership. Glad to hear you feel it's more agile than the Wee. That's a very good point of reference for me. I suspect neither one of us will be riding one to Iron Horse in a few weeks.

I stripped the 650 down to "barely tolerable" . I am afraid to sell it too soon, fearing the late arrival or not. I am sure I made the right choice though. I want to make the ironhorse event and most likely will.

Good picture and that does look like an ideal spot to mount the aux lights!

:)

I'm not sure if I'll strip mine or sell it fully loaded. I know I'd get more to strip it down, but I've spent so much time getting it to be the perfect bike I have an emotional attachment to taking back to stock. I probably need to get over that. Plus I need to make sure the S10 can unseat my beloved Vee as a worthy replacement.

It will I assure you. I had Pinkman riding with me on the demo, he rides a dl1000, and he said it would be his next bike, but was unwilling the shell out the clams for it right now. He has over 50K on his as well. I tried to sell my bike loaded, no one, I mean nobody thought that 600.00 for 2000.00 dollars worth of accessories was worth it. I did not understand it. So, reluctantly, I unbolted each and every part. It was hard doing it, it took me 2 years to get it right. I will get the tenere there with any luck. It's a lot more bike than the suzuki though.

I probably will strip it down. But it's such a perfect bike as it sits. I just need to get a business attitude about it. I have high hopes the S10 will make me smile as much or more than the Vee. Sometimes that's hard to imagine, but I'm willing to give it a real good opportunity to win my heart. Glad you liked it.

Those mounting tabs look good if you are installing the extra light just for illumination, but I want visibility to others more than just illumination. As was stated before, lower and farther out is usually better to make your ride more visible to others.

Now to find where to mount them wide and low.... Crashbars are still the best bet for this. Still waiting for all the crashbar suppliers to shake out.

Thats what I am going for as well. So, the front fender has 2 nice bolts ready to accept the bracket in the kit, but I think I will go for an added bracket, making it a bit beefier locating the lights low and wide. :)

Here are some great pics that WASP posted back when he first mounted the Solstice VisionX LED Solo. If you are getting the solo prime, just imagine them round. He had some even better pics (outside), but I can't find them right now. This is the location I'll be mounting mine. Out of harms way and some say helps a tiny bit with all the turbulent air that gets sucked up through the fairing by the forks.

Had the same problem. Previous bike was a Wee with lots of farkles. I mean, Scotts damper, Touratech parts, Sliders, Madstad, Stebel, Fork Brace, Mirror Wideners + KTM mirrors, ... list was endless.

I took it to the dealer naked, all the OEM parts that I had back on. He gave me a good price. Then I sold all the parts on the internet, got a good price for them aswell since most of them are exotic parts, hard to get in Belgium/Holland.

When I do sell the 650, I am selling it stock as is, cheap. If I get any crap, I'll keep it.

I like the looks of them there! Should be an easy install and easy to hide the wiring.

I know I can't get mine all the way down to stock. Sold the handlebars and mirrors years ago and drilled some holes in the dash for a light switch, Heat Troller and voltage meter. I'm sure I can get some hole covers for the round ones, but that voltage meter may have to go with the bike. I'm sure it won't take as long defarlking as it did to install. I hate the idea of selling my Vee, but it's too similar to the Tenere to keep both. I don't like keeping something around that won't get used...but it just seems so wrong to sell that bike.

Thanks, ptfjjj. That is the one I couldn't find.

For those attaching images to their posts, if it is not a personal image from your hard drive and the image is located somewhere on the web, rather than uploading an attachment, you can just link to it so it displays in your post. To do so, you can right click on the image and select "copy image location". Then, when you start your post on this forum, click the "Insert Image" button (directly above the first smiley face), which will put in the img and /img html tags with brackets. Click in between the two tags to put your cursor focus there then paste (right click and select paste or simply hold down the Ctrl key and hit "V" to paste) the image location, that you copied earlier, between the bracketed img and /img. Once you preview or submit your post, the image will be displayed automatically when it is loaded from out on the web. No more uploading attached images, your image will display full size without us having to click them, and they don't take up space on Venture's server since they are uploaded from where ever the link points.

Good info Chad. Perhaps it would be good to have a section in the "Site Announcement" area for "how to" items like this............
