The clutch lever was getting squeeky so I went to lube the pivot, but the nut on the bottom side of the pivot bolt that also holds one of the hand guard brackets, was missing it's nut! HOLY crap what a hunk of junk! glad i had a 8mm lock nut handy because i doubt it that it would have made it into work tomorrow without parts just falling off everywhere.

Yes, it is a pile of shit because some moron at the dealership did not properly tighten a nut ::)

Well rem, as you know very well, they don't fix themselves.

I will say this tread made me do another once over before I leave for eight days. Thank you for the reminder Todady.

Had this problem myself. Nut lost and bolt was nearly all out. Nut replaced with a little blue threadlock. No problem since then. It seems that the nut/ bolt turn the 'wrong' way with clutch lever movement. It doesn't happen with the nut/bolt on the handbreak.

What a coincidence i had the same issue after a 3 day trail ride. Because the handguard goes over the clutch pivot bolt i dont think there is any way the bolt could fall out but the nut was gone.

I had the same problem, however that's the only issue in 26000 miles. I was lucky my buddy on a 1200GS pointed it out to me. He said he was used to maintance.
