My newly pregnant wife and I attempted and completed our first Iron Butt SaddleSore1000 this weekend.

From 10pm Friday to Saturday We rode from our home in Springfield, Ga down to Jacksonville, FL then across to the Oasis truck stop in Robertsdale, AL. We took a 1.5 hr nap and took the same route home in the day light getting back home at 6:20pm.

My 6 month pregnant wife and I at the dragons tail for memorial day weekend, her last motorcycle camping trip before our daughter gets here. We were also accompanied my @sorethumb and Mrs. Sorethumb for their first moto camping trip. Looking forward to the next one.

Well, with about an hour left on the way home from our Memorial Day trip. I discovered a nice driveshaft seal leak.

Those of us lucky to have a wife that rides with us, either pillion or on her own bike, understand the joy that comes with a shared ride. Her big smile says more than your eloquent words do. Keep having fun, and consider a side car so the three of you can ride together before the little one is old enough to ride pillion. The adventures that you could give her, and the epic fail of the boys that will try to impress her later, will be well worth the expense and garage space. I know a few of those young women that have traveled via side car with the family. When you've been to Alaska and finished the IBR in a hack with your Mom and Dad, some silly jock's football score is pretty trivial. "Where did you go this summer? Peru... by motorcycle. What did you do...?"

18 days later and my final drive seals are here. Ten day back order on one of them.

Got the final drive seals replaced, cleaned and back together.

AND... I slapped on a couple more stickers from our trips and achievements!

Kind of surprising to me the trouble getting some simple Yamaha parts, I hear that about Honda parts sometimes but I personally have never experienced any trouble getting Honda parts.

Rode a solid 40 miles of red dirt and hard sand roads Sunday, new driveshaft seal doesn’t seem to be leaking, but Saw leak on the large final drive seal (hub side) and Seal saver’ed it after the ride, rode a 60 mile highway stint after that and so far so good.
