I did a similar trip through Norway a number of years back awesome. Your trip is worth months of schooling for the young fella, lucky boy and well done

Awesome, thanks!

I can't wait until my kids get old enough to come on some trips with me.

I was just coming on to comment on meeting you Z. A pleasure to meet you and Jerry. The funny part of running into him was that he made a few hitches for the Tenere. 5 maybe? I pull into the campground in Whitehorse next to two other Tenere's with trailers. Might have been the only 3 Tenere's pulling trailers in North America and there they all are in one group shot (in the video).

The hitch and trailer really made the two up traveling much nicer. The hitch was perfect. The HF trailer may need some upgrades.

One issue with the back wheel. Spokes were good when I left but must have loosened up on the rough parts of the Alcan.

I didn't check them before heading up on the haul road. When I returned to pavement in Fairbanks I could feel something not right in the rear wheel. 3-4 broken spokes, many loose ones. I had two spares which I replaced immediately and snugged up the rest. I ordered a complete set to be picked up in Anchorage. It is a good thing that I did because I broke 3-4 more spokes coming home on the Cassiar.

One mounting point on the rim also broke.

I really am not happy about the rear wheel. Apparently this is an issue that others have been having as well. This bike was used but had yes. I tried to get Yammy to get me a new rim and they wouldn't. They did tell me that the previous owner had already made a claim on the warrant regarding rear spokes. So it wasn't just a matter of my fat butt. ::025::

Here is pic

I got lucky and found a very good welder who fixed it right up for $40

Not happy about it but it is better than the rear wheel problem that I had with my GS on my previous Alaska trip. ::025::

Epic trip! Loved the all the wildlife shots, and your son seemed happy-as-can-be in every photo. Undoubtedly, one of his best life experiences to date! (Well, both of you, I suppose.) As a father of a six-year old, I can appreciate the effort you went to. Glad things went safely and you now both have a lifelong shared memory that will bond you forever. Well done, Dad!
