Feeding the addiction, bought a "leftover" '16 S10, No ES.

Traded up? down? sideways? from a Kaw ZX14R, 180 HP rocketship.

I needed a break from the wind, the noise, the adrenalin.

Needed a break from kneeling to the chain gods, and being bent into a semi pretzel.

So, looking forward to a great party here.

Let the farkling begin!

Thanks, all. Yup, it still feels like a trade up so far.

The cycle has been sitting as I await the return of my seats from Seat Concepts (my go-to saddlery shop).

Thanks, very kind of you.

Are you a member of the Arizona Dual Sports Riders (FB page), a Phoenix area DS chapter?

::004:: from Central Ohio!

I am sympatico with your "must...keep...farkling" tag! Seems like I spend more time researching and adding farkles than I do riding! Going to change that up this year!

I'm kinda unhappy with he cycle this morning.

I got the rebuilt seats back from Seat Concepts, and gave them a try. At this moment, I'm feeling like there's nothing I'm gonna be able to do to fix the "push me into the gas tank and grabbing my short hairs along the way".

I can live with the "sitting on the bike", rather than the "sitting on the bike", I expect that in an ADV.

But I was looking for a fix that would get me comfy for an all day long ride, and I did not get it.

Hmmmmmm..... Not feelin too good about this cycle, right now.

I made that alteration, and at first I didn't feel a difference. But, as time went by, I noticed I wasn't getting that "into the tank" feeling anymore. I also noticed it is more comfortable with a passenger than before the change; not as much "push". I also found that I had to find my "natural" riding position. The way I sat on it at first, is not the same as now. Not only does the bike have to "break-in", so does the rider. I also found the natural balance of the bike. It took me awhile to get a "balance stop" down on this bike. Longer than on my other bikes.

This is interesting. I've still got, and have ridden, many other cycles. This one is the first to do this to me.

You're saying I should give it a chance, give it time. I suppose I can, although the experience of having my balls burning after a half hour of riding really tries my patience.

I traded for this??

Anyway, you folks have been kind, and I'm thankful to you for it.

I too have never had a seating position like this with all the bikes I've ridden. I thought I was going crazy until I saw the thread on seat leveling. I was trying to figure out why I kept having to readjust back on the seat. I also think that it may be that the seat is shorter, front to back, than other bikes. The larger you are, the less room you have to move backward. But one would think with an upright seating position, there would not be that tendency to slide forward. Now, I am fortunate enough that it never caused that kind of pain that you are experiencing. Could Seat Concepts remove some of the foam from the rear, causing a more rearward tilt? Hope you can figure it out without getting rid of your ride.
